Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold insists that his team will focus on chasing championship titles in every tournament this season follows. This was done because Alexander-Arnold hoped that Liverpool could seal as many championships as possible, especially from the Premier League and Champions League.
This statement was expressed by Alexander-Arnold because last season Liverpool wiped out all the titles in the competition. Jurgen Klopp's team can only carry one title from the Champions League, while in the English League, Liverpool only finish in second place.
"I am sure we can take positive things from how Man City won last year. They showed us how the victory was obtained. They drove nonstop. Losing the title is the worst feeling we have ever felt in football," said Alexander-Arnold, as quoted from Goal, Sunday (09/22/2019).
"You cannot ignore one trophy to pursue another trophy. Why not go for both? We have got quality in the squad. We want to win everything. We have to be selfish about it. We don't want to give the other teams an easy route to the winning trophy. "We want to dominate on all fronts, reach the finals, be around the title race every season," he continued.
"We don't want to be remembered as a Liverpool team that only won the Champions League. We want to be a team that people can't remember how many trophies we won because we won so many. If someone says Liverpool won the English League, we want people to say, 'Which one?' Or 'What year was that?' "Alexander-Arnold said.
Such a confident young fella, I believe they can anyway, it is never easy, Manchester City don't look like they are relenting either, although I'm a Chelsea fan, Liverpool versus Chelsea today, it's going to be a tough one
