Davide Astori, captain of Fiorentina has been found dead this morning at the concentration hotel of his team. The cause of death seems to have been cardiac arrest. Fiorentina played this Sunday at 3:00 pm against Udinese, the game has been suspended.
The Italian central has been several times international with Italy and had been named this season as captain of the team. The defender has died at the age of 31 years.
There were no known health problems for the player that could have predicted Astori's death, and Fiorentina was in negotiations to renew his contract.
