Van Dijk handed Captaincy Role

Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp has recently backed the Reds defender Virgil Van Dijk to mature in captaincy role. Van Dijk was recently handed captaincy role in the club. This followed after the player was handed the role to captain the club in their match against Red Star Belgrade in the champions league on this past Wednesday.

Following the injury of Jordan Henderson and James Milner the captaincy was handed to Van Dijk. James Milner is the main club captain and suffers from a hamstring injury. H ejust recently recovered and so was unavailable for the match. Henderson on the other hands in still out injured and a return is not close.

In their absence, Captaincy and vice captaincy were handed to 27-years-old Netherland defender and his fellow country Georginio Wijnaldum as vice captain. Liverpool will be hosting Cardiff City today in the premier league as they seek to get bak to winning ways after recent games where they drew against Chelsea and Manchester City in the premier league.
