The Indonesian women's soccer team celebrated the goal in its first match at the 2018 Asian Games. Facing the Maldives, Indonesia won 6-0.
In the match at the Sriwijaya Stadium, Jakabaring, Palembang, Thursday (08/16/2018), Indonesia appeared to dominate. Maldives does not provide significant resistance throughout the game.
Continuing to attack, Indonesia were 3-0 ahead in the first round through goals from Zahra Muzdalifah (10th minute), Mayang ZP (15th minute), and Yudith Herlina Sada (30th minute). After the break, Indonesia scored three additional goals through Mayang (55th minute), Jesella Arifya Sari (61st minute), and Zahra (72nd minute).
Thanks to this victory, Indonesia topped the Group A standings with three points. Indonesia is above South Korea which also won three points.
South Korea itself won 2-1 over Taiwan in its first match. Two South Korean goals were scored by Jeon Ga-eul and Jang Sel-gi, while Taiwan's only reply came from Yu Hsiu-chin.
In the next match, Indonesia will fight Taiwan on Sunday (08/19/2018). South Korea will face Maldives on the same day.
