There are few cards in Splinterlands that can seriously absorb heavy damage. Actually, they are supposed to be this way. That's why these cards have the ability to Taunt.
They become the target and attract all incoming damage, sparing the rest of the team from injury leaving them free to do their job and secure victory.
And when you pair the Taunt card with extra armor, repair, and/or heal, well then, that's quite possibly the card that will make the opponent cry in frustration and give up the fight.
We've all come across some really tough Taunt cards, like the Shield Bearer of light, the mighty Dark Ha'on of death and the greatly feared legend The Kraken of water.
There's one particular new taunt card from water Splinter that I have recruited lately for the team and have a great liking for its role and performance. It does an amazing job of absorbing hits and staying strong through the battles. He's not immensely powerful with 2 ranged attack, but still enough to support the attacking front.
I'm referring to Wave Brood.
This is a monster of a card!
But he really shines when paired with Angelic Mandarin who has the Triage ability and can heal some damage points to keep him alive for several rounds or even through the battle.
And to make him almost indestructible a Venari Wavesmith in the ranks will add armor with fortify.
This 3 card combo in a lineup can take abuse and leave the rest of the team free to battle it up.
This was a great battle, faced with some fierce Earth warriors, but the Wave Brood and Angelic Mandarin combo take hits and the explosive Pirate Archer kills the team one by one!!

This was an Epic battle for the Title of MASTER OF TAUNT! Faced against The Kraken with a double heal line-up!

So there you have it, the Master of Taunt! An amazing combo to keep the opposing team at bay and frustrated with the mighty absorbing powers of The Wave Brood and his gang.
