I'm into it and it has my vote. As someone who usually plays around the gold level, I'd say the packs should be distributed disproportionately, if not entirely, to new and low level players (bronze, silver). That would help increase their engagement and make them stickier users.
This may be especially beneficial to new user retention in the period where they cannot buy new packs directly through the Splinterlands shop. There's a lot of cards now. That's amazing and exciting, but also challenging and a barrier to entry for new players. Buying new packs is a good way to discover new cards and the experience of opening a new pack and that occasional lucky draw are some of the most fun parts of collecting the cards. I don't want to deprive new players of that.
its good that you said you are playing in gold but to my understanding of the situation on the ground is, the new player will hardly get any pack in chest unless he is playing at least in silver 1 of which he wont be regarded as a new player by that time unless if am missing something here. I believe the guys who are going to get the chuck of these chests are the higher league guys and oh yes maybe that is the true definition of new players 😃
Yes, I think you're right about the higher ranked players getting these packs. They probably don't need them. As a middle range player who has been around long enough to build up a nice deck, I'd rather see more people come into the game and drive demand. This is all self-interested on my part, properly understood.
