My favorite part of Christmas(and always the source of ample nostalgia) was walking down the stairs with my brothers and seeing the reflection of the Christmas tree lights on the wall. It always ramped up our excitement and we made it a big deal where we could only face the wall until we made it all the way down the stairs and then turned around together to behold the sight of the tree! It was similar for me and my brothers. We had to wait upstairs in our rooms until my parents were ready. Then we'd line up and make our way down the stairs to the treasure trove of presents waiting for us, Christmas music playing around us. Now I make my kids do the same thing.
