This week's challenge from @splinterlands ⚔️
First off the card itself - check out this fierce soldier in all his glory:
Their stats from the meta snapshot:
Wow, unless this data is faulty, it looks like it's basically never used...
Let's see how effective he is. This is one of the first times I'm using him.
Here are the battle conditions:
- Super Sneak and Odd Ones Out
- 26 mana
- All splinters available besides green
My lineup:
- Camila Sungazer - my strongest dragon summoner
- Gloridax soldier - serving as tank with flying providing good evasion and shield in case a blow lands. Overall he's a pretty good value.
- War Chaang - fantastic off-tank to help soak up damage and retaliate it back
- Serpentine Mystic - great support given its mana cost with its affliction ability and 1 magic damage
- Goblin Shaman - great support that provides weaken and 1 magic damage
- Fire elemental - strong DPS with its ~4 damage with its blast ability. Given that its ranged, I have it at the very back
See here for video of the battle
My strategy worked surprisngly well. Usually I would have a much beefier tank than Gloridax soldier (e.g., Chain Golem or Living Lava), but given this battle challenge, I decided to given him a shot in the front slot. Overall I think I won this because I was able to reallocate the mana from the tank to having stronger support and DPS than typical.
Going forward, I may test out using Gloridax for low mana situations (20 or less), especially when there are penalties for non-flying monsters.
See y'all on the battlefield!

Shield vs Shield at least fly ability works well at first, also the summon by Camila can make this card more difficult to be defeated.
