One day, a city slicker was driving through the countryside and saw a farmer standing in the middle of a field, surrounded by cows. The city slicker pulled over and asked the farmer, "How many cows do you have?"
The farmer replied, "Well, I have 37 cows."
The city slicker was impressed and asked, "How do you keep track of all of them?"
The farmer replied, "Oh, it's easy. I just count their legs and divide by four."
The city slicker was confused and asked, "But what if one of them is missing a leg?"
The farmer replied, "Well, then I just count their ears."
The city slicker was even more confused and asked, "But what if one of them is missing an ear?"
The farmer replied, "Well, then I just call them all by name."
