2 Timothy 4:8 KJVS
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
Jesus is truly coming for his saints, all believers that have been identified with the name of Jesus will go with him, it will be the final redemption, which will swallow up this mortal body, bringing us into the fullness of our salvation,but it doesn't end there. Before Jesus left, he gave us(every believers) an assignment, to finish a work he didn't finish, which is to make sure the whole world hear the gospel, this make christ to be like a master that sent us on an errand though we are sons, and he expects us to do the work, and on that day when he comes, he will ask us if we have been faithful with the assignment.
The people that have submitted themselves to the work and are faithful are those that love his appearing,
You don't love his appearing because you think you are the most holy, checking that 2tim 4, Paul was talking about reward for preaching the gospel, the crown of righteousness awaits them.
He will come and we will stand before him, both we that will be alive and those already dead by that time.
2 Timothy 4:1 KJVS
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
What Paul says next is:
2 Timothy 4:2a KJVS
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season;
So, those that do his will will definitely look forward for his appearing without fear, A servant that does his job faithfully cannot be afraid of the coming of his master any time, he will be full of confidence not fear.
One day, we will all stand before him at his judgements seat, everything physical would have been long gone, all physical achievements would have no say here, the real assignment he gave us will be examined, whether we are faithful or not, and the reward we cannot miss, so, arise from your slumber and do the work! Not just for the reward but because his love has compelled us.
See you at work, you who love his appearing.
Good morning.
