Sometime ago,I had written an article for an online publication for someone. I was feeling optimistic that I had done a great job and was waiting patiently for my "balance " which I've already calculated what I will use it for then came the shocker.
"Cynthia ,you tried but I'm sorry the article was rejected and I can't complete the payment again because the article is of no use anymore. I'm sorry."
I felt very sad. I knew I had given it my best. I kept asking myself what went wrong. But I was mostly hurt because my calculations is of no use again.
Few days later after the incident . I was going through some articles online and then stumbled on something that caught my interest; I saw the same rejected article bodly displayed . It was published!
I couldn't believe it. I had to open it and found out that it was published alongside the person's picture the very same day the person told me that it was rejected. I was played! Yes I was played and nothing hurts than that but it opened my eyes to reality and I learnt my lessons.
There are people who loves living off on another person's sweat. Why do we do that? It's like the known adage that " Monkey dey work and baboon dey chop" and that's not good at all.
People stay up late to give their very best for something they are passionate about or earn a living from then eventually end up been played. There are some thing's we do that doesn't worth it. If you know you can't be able to pay for services rendered to you, its either you let it go or reach a compromise with the person. Don't live off another person's sweat because you don't know what they had to pass through in order to get it done. You don't know their expectations which may leave them feeling sad, hurt and frustrated all because of your selfish desire. That's very sad.
Finally, do bear in mind that there are consequences for every of your actions . Whatever you sow is what you reap. You can't sow corn and expect to reap potatoes. You reap exactly what you sow. So what kind of seed are you sowing ? Sow the right seed to reap the right seed as well. Remember, what goes around comes around. Thank you.
