Yesterday morning, I decided to service my vehicle for enhanced performance at the following cost:

A) Engine oil N4,500

B) Oil Filter N1,000

C) Change of front wheel bearings: N25,000

D) Change the four tyres 205/70 Rim 16 @ N26,500 each: totally, N106,000

E) Wheel Balancing & Alignment: N3,500

F) Servicing and Workmanship cost; N10,000.

G) Bought Injector Cleaner & Chemical to minimize Fuel Consumption: N1,500

H) To cap it all l filled the fuel tank up with just N13,500 .

Total cost was N160,000. (Approximately $460 USD)!!!!!!

While on my bed this night, The Sad news of the various people that I had known that are currently demised this year kept recurring in my mind.

I have lost two different Lawyers and an engineer all in their prime (20's, 30's)

I was informed that before their sudden demise they had at one point or the other all complained of one slight symptom of ailments or the other before death struck suddenly.

This got me asking myself:

HOW MUCH MONEY HAVE I SPENT THIS YEAR TO SERVICE MY BODY?

For how long will I keep thinking all is well with my health in spite of all odds?

As we go through life, We go through dust at times, breath in all kind of unhygienic and highly polluted air, drink some water we can't acertain their sources, eat plenty junk foods with dangerous additives and hazardous condiments.

We expose ourselves daily to radiations from our computer and phone without actually paying attention to the negative effect it may have on our general well being.

If my car could gulp over $460 dollars in just one instance just for general servicing and tuning. Then I think I deserve to diagnose and upgrade my system.

At this moment, the question of Who is doing the tougher job, between you and your car now becomes imperative?

  • Can you remember the last time you went for a medical checkup?..I don't mean having to fall sick and going to the hospital out of necessity for survival, I mean just a routine health check up..?

  • Can you really say that you are practicing a healthy lifestyle?

  • With relations to how you take care of your vehicle, What are the efforts that you are making to ensure that you maintain an optimum capacity of your internal body organs?

  1. The Oil Filter of your vehicle could best be seen as your Kidney,

  2. Your Heart plays the role of the Fuel Pump

  3. While the Air Filter could be seen as the Lungs

  4. And your Pancreas, are the Plugs in your body

  5. Your Liver does the Job of the Chemical Filters

  6. Your Bones and skeletal system xould be seen as the Chassis body.

  7. While the eyes are the head lamps.

  8. The legs - the tyres.

  9. And your veins and the intestine are the wires and the hoses of the Vehicle.

When last did you check your head lamb (your eyes) ,Your chemical filter (Livers), Your Air filter (Lungs) and other vital organs of your body?

It could make a whole lot of difference.

Remember nothing could ever be more important than your health.

Health is Wealth

Wow what a great article.. Now concerning your questions, it's too bad that I'm guilty of the things you said here but this is Africa... I mean sometimes we don't even go to the hospital when we fall sick not to talk of going for weekly or monthly medical check up. Am not saying we don't value our health, it just that we don't just do anything when nothing is wrong. And that's kinda bad.

Great article once more and nice car.. Lol

You are exactly right...I'm guilty of it as well, I don't remember when I went to any hospital on the grounds of checkup.. And this is what we have to change. We've got to know that health is really the real wealth.
Thank you so much for stopping by boss.. I appreciate. I'm sorry for the very late reply, I have been so busy of late.

Am sorry for the loss brother.
You know, modern civilization has grown high and technological advancements has also increased and we tend to focus more on these things than our health itself. Some people dont even go for check up until they are so sick that they are admitted in the hospital, some have never even exercised before. The only time they would do so is when the doctor says "do this or tou could loose your life" thats when ypu see them in very nice jogging Nike shoes with sweat dripping all over them.
Great article sir.
Keep em coming

You are so right bro.. You've said it all.
Only if we can realise that we've only got one life and our health is our greatest asset...it would go a long way in re-shaping our attitude towards our health.
Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate your comment.
Sorry for the late reply.
