Have you ever seen a red full moon, its really beautiful and lovely? I just came across something very interesting, the RED MOON rising; the best partial eclipse photos. It is one of the amazing things of nature.
A partial lunar eclipse treated many parts of the globe to a copper – coloured moon on a certain Monday. The eclipse was visible from Asia to Europe, sometimes appearing red in colour as the sun’s ray shined on its surface.
The phenomenon happens when Earth’s passes between the sun and the moon – casting the earth’s shadow on the moon and obscuring it in darkness.
When only a small part of the moon is obscured, the remaining rays of sun can light it up a bright red – orange – the same reflection effect that makes a sunset look red.
It came just weeks before the last total eclipse of the sun on 21 August, which crossed the entire United States. That was the first time a total eclipse was viewable from the US – mainland since 1979.
The shadow of the so-called “great American eclipse” passed right across the mainland, from one coast to the other during the eclipse.
The part of the sun covered during the eclipse depends on your location. Some viewer got the full effect, while others further from the “part of totality” got to see only a partial eclipse. It was in-deed beautiful.
But that part of totality stretches from South Carolina to Oregon. That was the first time in 99 years that one has crossed entire contiguous US.
