Another day of Polish-Ukrainian conversation lessons is behind us. We have been conducting them at @krolestwo for over 2 weeks now. The experience we’ve won over that time allows us to say that this activity is very much needed, because paradoxically Ukrainians living in Kraków do not have many opportunities to speak Polish. Of course, I'm talking about an ordinary conversation, not a short exchange of sentences in a shop. For Poles, this is an opportunity not only to get to know their neighbours, but also to learn something interesting. For example, Yuri from Lugansk told @hallmann about his trips to Venezuela and Ecuador, and Katerina from Kyiv shared with @foggymeadow her experience with running an Instagram account. Meeting and getting to know each other is perhaps even more important than learning the language itself.
We use photographs in our lessons. They provide context for the conversation and describing them is always the starting point for talking. We have 200 of them, but we are in the process of selecting more, which we will print thanks to the prize from last week's post. So far we have managed to collect a total of 134 HBD, including 123 HBD as rewards from posts and 11 HBD donated by @blind-spot. Unfortunately, this is still not enough to cover all our planned expenses, but we remain optimistic.
The biggest challenge is to provide cargo for the minivan that our friend wants to donate to the Vulyk (Hive) volunteer organisation in Kharkiv. We want to buy and send them food with a long shelf life, hygiene products, and medicines. For this purpose, we need at least 500 HBD.

Za nami kolejny dzień konwersacyjnych lekcji polsko-ukraińskich. Prowadzimy je w @krolestwo już od ponad 2 tygodni. Czas ten pozwala nam stwierdzić, że jest to działanie bardzo potrzebne, bo paradoksalnie mieszkający w Krakowie Ukraińcy nie mają wielu okazji, aby mówić po polsku. Chodzi tu oczywiście o zwykłą rozmowę, a nie o krótką wymianę zdań w sklepie. Dla Polaków jest to okazja, nie tylko aby poznać swoich sąsiadów, ale również dowiedzieć się czegoś ciekawego. I tak na przykład Jurij z Luganska opowiedział @hallmann o swoich podróżach do Wenezueli i Ekwadoru, a Katerina z Kijowa opowiedziała @foggymeadow o prowadzeniu Instagrama. Spotkanie się i poznanie jest może nawet ważniejszym aspektem niż sama nauka języka.
Podczas lekcji wykorzystujemy fotografie. Tworzą one kontekst i ich opisywanie jest zawsze punktem wyjścia do rozmowy. Mamy ich 200, ale trwa selekcja kolejnych, które wydrukujemy dzięki nagrodzie z wpisu sprzed tygodnia. Do tej pory udało nam się zebrać łącznie 134 HBD. 123 HBD to nagrody z postów, 11 to darowizna od @blind-spot. Niestety to wciąż za mało, aby pokryć wszystkie nasze zaplanowane wydatki, ale jesteśmy dobrej myśli.
Największym wyzwaniem jest zapełnieniem minivana, który nasz przyjaciel chce podarować organizacji wolontariuszy Vulyk (Ul) z Charkowa. Chcemy kupić i wysłać im żywność z długą datą przydatności do spożycia, środki higieniczne, lekarstwa. Na ten cel potrzebujemy przynajmniej 500 HBD.
