Part one of my oldest son's Christmas presents is to go to Vegas and see Rogue One Friday night.
The local theater is just yucky - sticky floors and old uncomfy seats. In Vegas - recliner theaters and they serve liquor.
Now - I am a die hard Star Wars fan since 1977. In fact, it was also one of the first movies to ever air on HBO back in 1978 - my brother and I watched it 32 times that month.
Fema-Nazi Take Over of Lucas Films
I am concerned about an interview I saw last month where the new CEO of Lucas Films addresses the Male target audience and basically states she doesn't care about the integrity of the story line or staying true to the books - she views her role as needing to create very strong female leads.
Listen - I am woman - a very strong woman - BUT I DON'T NEED OR WANT my Star Wars to become some feminist recruiting film.
Like the rest of our world, it seems betrayal exists even in the most precious of areas, the integrity of the story.
I truly hope it's worth the trip and ticket price.
Interesting take... I feel your pain! 😧
As a lifelong Science Fiction fan, I have appreciated strong feminine heroes in the books I've read - particularly the works of Robert A. Heinlein... However, I would also be disappointed if some Janie-come-lately were to tamper with the fundamentals of the story line for the sake of an axe to grind!
