After the rubber plastic road! Meghalaya showed a surprise after the Tripura of Northeast
India. A kilometer of road was mixed with plastic wastes in the hill state.
Many years ago, the construction of road with rubber in Tripura started. Indian Rubber
Board engineers get success in several places. Now the road was constructed using bitumin
in a special way by collecting plastic waste in Meghalaya.
This road was built at Nankinjeng village in West Khasi district of the state. District
administration claims that this road is a sturdy plastic road compared to the common roads.
Deputy Commissioner Arun Kumar Kamvai told reporters that the construction of a one
kilometer road costing 33 lakh rupees. Plastic garbage likes 470 kg Apart from district
headquarters, they also collect plastic garbage from the capital Shillong.
The Deputy Commissioner said, the road is much stronger than the weather condition of
Meghalaya. So they are going to build two more roads using plastic waste.
Rajagopalan Basudeban, the Tamil Nadu scientist of Southern India, invented this method.
His technique of making plastic road in Meghalaya is his brain.
Basudeban has already received Padma Shri as one of the highest civilian honor for
innovation.
