With the DOJ decision this afternoon to allow the ATT acquisition of Time Warner to move forward means the end of cable television as we know it. The ramifications of this deal will reverberate throughout the media and communications sectors for a long tie. Soon, we will all have a monthly subscription to every single network and platform who's content we enjoy. With 9.99 here, 12.99 there, it will unravel into a millennial form of nickel and diming. Netflix began the revolution; this is the logical next steps of an arcane industry moving into the future.
Do you agree? I personally don't know how many of these over the top subscriptions I can handle- the answer, I suppose, is as many that satiates my appetite for something to watch at night or while sick.
