Despite all the recent drama it looks like someone is still keen to buy Steem. It's over 40c for the first time this year and doing well against bitcoin as that is dropping, along with just about every other coin.
I monitor a selection of coins on Coinmarketcap. Recently the cap of Steem was about a third of Dogecoin, but now its over half. Steem was languishing around 50th place and is now in the top 40. It would need to rise another 50% to go top 30.
In my time on here I've seen variation of the Steem price between 6c and $8 with my account value hitting pretty high value at times, but I still see it as a long game. I want to see it rise on merit and not just speculation. I think that means getting far more people on board and them having lots of ways to use it.
For now we need the community to work with Steemit Inc to build the foundations that make that possible and there are signs of that happening. There can be problems when egos clash, but we need to be a little more humble and accept when we are wrong. We all stand to gain if it takes off, but I see it being beneficial to millions more around the world.
BTW xkcd has a take on 'technical analysis' :)
BTBTW eSteem managed to mess up the tags. Looks like a bug I'll have to report. I'm stuck with #stee as you cannot edit the first one.
Steem on!
Here is what i heard:
The thing happening in Korea is a pump primarily on UpBit. That pump has raised the price locally on UpBit. People then go out and buy STEEM on other exchanges at a cheap price and move it to UpBit to sell at a higher price. This causes the price of STEEM to go up on other exchanges as well.
That technical analysis was hilarious hahaha.
Seriously though we almost reaching the bottom of that bear market, let's just hold on a little longer...
Some people are speculating that Samsung are buying Steem, but I'll believe it when I see proof
This seems so improbable with the last powering down, @ned taking his money out...
I am still down if it happens though :)
I also monitor a selection of coins and I have to say that I was really happy when I noticed the growth of steem! Like you, I remember when steem was at 6 c and so I'm not in worry ^_^
I have been really surprised by the increase in STEEM despite the decrease in other major coins as well. It is very interesting and I am not sure what it could really be attributed to.
it's looking a bit better indeed... Well see how things turn out. There is a lot of rumour going on of which I hope the opposite it true. (about Steemit inc leaving, a lot of whales etc..). For me... Steem on !!
I doubt Steemit will leave, but I could easily be wrong. They could have done it when Steem was worth much more if they want the money.
True, I doubt it too, but there are so many conspiracies ;) I think there is to much oppertunity also for them to 'throw' it away...
At this very moment I'm living of Steem, even though I haven't cashed out big chunks. This is for me THE best crypto out there, that gives us the oppportunity to work, be rewarded for that and trade it for real life goods - gosh I may even get my bicycle back if the price keeps on going.
It's not easy to live off Steem right now, but I hope it works out for you.
What I want to see is more people involve in Steemit
The secret is "live homeless" and "don't lose stuff" - oops, that one I failed AHHAH
But on the road it's pretty duable if one stick to only buying food.

Everything seems nice until now and I am still hoping for the prices to raise higher. So lets be surprised :D
Why do you think it should rise? There has to be a good reason or it will just fall again as people take their profits.
Because last year the prizes raised a lot at this same period, so I think it might be a pattern, but not sure :)
We need more than patterns :)

We'll have to see how it goes from here. I think Steemit are free to use their funds as they see fit. My feeling is that they are with us for a while yet if we can work with the,.
