The Tool To Encourage And Reward Engagement On Your Posts: @steem-bounty

in #steem-bounty6 years ago (edited)

A few weeks back I stumbled over a post with a bounty added to it. I immediately became curious as I read the "bounty-added-comment" from @steem-bounty, clicked on it and also read their How to create a bounty guide.

Since that point I'm hooked on the idea and vision of @steem-bounty and decided to spread the word about this great addition to further reward the engaging community.

Every single one of us knows the feeling when you just see the common spam comments under your posts after hours of writing, formatting and double-checking. And a short feeling of not being appreciated let us doubt what we are doing.

That's why I was so excited after I found out about @steem-bounty. For those of you that don't know about this awesome project first let me tell you quickly what it is all about.

@steem-bounty just got one year last week and was founded and managed by @knircky. Basically @steem-bounty lets you further encourage and reward engagement on your posts. For this you just send some SBD or STEEM to @steem-bounty with the post-url of the post you want to add a bounty on in the memo. After a minutes @steem-bounty will automatically comment on your post to let you and everybody else reading the post know a bounty was set and the amount of that bounty.

The distribution of the bounty works as followed: 80% of the bounty will be distributed on all the comments the bounty owner (that would be you) votes on depending on the vote weight percentage of every vote given. The other 20% will be distributed on all comments the community votes on again depending on the vote weight percentage of every vote given.

In case of spammers or unappreciated comments the bounty owner is able to downvote (using any vote weight he wants) and the downvoted user won't get a share of the bounty.

Also @knircky just published @steem-bounty 's official website: https://www.steem-bounty.com

This website offering an overview of all the active bounties at the moment and let you search them by amount of the bounty, expiration date, adding date and the tagged categories all embedded in a nice modern layout:

Thanks again to @knircky doing a great job with this project and his continuous support of the real vision behind Steemit: Supporting each other!

Keep up the good work!

I have been using steemify to notify me when new bounties come out. But with the website going live I might switch over to using that instead. I have given it a glance but haven’t spent anytime on it yet. Supporting this initiative has been fun because it has exposed me to users that i would have never found on my own and made me think about various topics which I appreciate. Plus I get to make a little extra on the side and that is definitely appreciated as well! I have not set a bounty yet on any of my posts, but I am an avid bounty hunter! Thanks for the post @elleok!

Thanks for your comment.

Yeah like you said it also made me open to new topics to write.

Increíble contenido amigo siempre dando informaciones muy buena sigue así apoyando a la comunidad me encanto tu post @elleok saludos.

Thank you for sharing. It's really useful.

You are welcome!

Thanks for the resteem!

Agreed. It's good way. At least, now you can have the satisfaction of knowing that, if not many but a few are giving attention to your post.

Yeah and you are able to reward the comments more. For me with only 200 SP it is difficult to reward good comments by upvoting them since my 100% upvote is only worth 0.03 at the moment.

Yes, that's another good point "reward the comment more". Agreed on this one too.

Thanks for the visit to my article about @steem-bounty. It is definitely a nice concept and giving a try to see how effective it can be. Nevertheless, users should do their research to see whether it fits their needs. Will upvote your article! Cheers!

Thanks for dropping by.

Yep I love this project it connects everyone and create engagement

Indeed!

You made a mistake in your title

It is steem-bounty not steem-bount

Ups 😬!

Thanks for pointing that out!

@elleok has set 1.000 SBD bounty on this post! logo_for-light-bg_1000.png
What is a bounty exactly?

A bounty is money sent to a post to be distributed to the users commenting on it. It provides a way to reward users directly and works in addition to the steem/sbd they receive from the blockchain. It works independently of SteemPower.

You create a bounty by sending any amount of sbd/steem to @steem-bounty together with a post-url in the memo.

How can I earn a bounty Users are then competing for the bounty by writing their answers to the post in comments that will achieve upvotes from the community and especially the bounty creator. The money of the bounty gets distributed to all top level comments of the post at the same time when the post is paid out (7 Days after it was written). How much everyone gets depends on the votes the comments received. The sender of the bounties votes are weighted higher so that she decideds where 80% of the bounty money goes and all other votes determine the rest.

@steem-bounty does all of this for you automatically. You can use this service to automatically pay out a challenge, ask a hard question or simply to reward the people that interact with you.

Read more about how it works, even in different languages here.
