Hello Steemians, I have been working on something and decided to practice some drawing that has a background in it. I am actually really bad when it comes to background drawing but never really had the motivation to do some practice and practice is important when it comes to doing art.
With that said, here is my drawing that I did for practicing background drawing with characters.
I know that it may not be much and rather simple, but I am currently interested in making more of characters with background drawings. For now, I want to start with a simple background then slowly work my way to the more complicated ones.
How Do I Feel About This Drawing
To be honest, I am kinda happy how it turned out although I know there are a lot of improvement needed for this artwork and this artwork is my first digital background drawing as I never actually had interest in drawing a background for any characters yet. I was reluctant at first to post this artwork but my friend, @ellyn-suraya, encouraged me to post my practice artworks as it will help me get motivation and also get comments from people who are willing to help me improve on my art. You guys should really check her out! She has great CREATIONS!!!
Drawing Process
-As you can see, I started out with drawing the characters first which I think is not proper as you need to properly get the
perspective of your backgrounds to match with your characters or they will look like they are out of place.
-Firstly I sketch the characters then I outline them.
-I start by using the base colours first then do the shading. I used the grey bakground to help me identify the parts that I miss for colours.
-After that, I started drawing the background by first identifying the eye level.
-Then I outlined the background then start filling it in with colours.
That was how I created this piece. I wish to improve both my background drawing and colouring for digital art and also to use more styles.
