Hmmmmm..... where do I start.....
There is this time that I just sketch something for funsies, since I mind has been blank all this while. Then I sketched this face here, which for me, is interesting, since I was aiming for a hybrid of realism and a bit of stylization. Though I gotta admit, it's not really that unique but at least I got something from a sketch...
Here it is....
What in the world? Why that stereotypical spoopy stuff ya say?..... Really? Is it spoopy? I dunno....
Although I do get some feedback from my colleague that its a unique mix of both realism and a bit of anime (or whatever this style is). Kinda glad it works fine. Plus, this is a mood that I rarely touch upon, so that's something new.
Anyways, the sketch that started it all...
Though to be honest, I was actually stuck on what to add after I draw the face. But alas, I go for that typical Japanese ghost feel for the style or anything mood that is dark yet still aesthetically pleasing.... okay maybe not...
The inking...
And yes, I was playing with the eye the most here. The eye is what set the tone for this portrait for me at least. Added wrinkles and stuff.... The hair? Just go with the flow...
Base colors.
Yeah, very few colors. Just making if simple.
Details.
Basically add stuff to make this art spoopy.... maybe not....
Finally some effects, adjustments and composition.
Well, at least it's something that is fresh for me to draw. Some side note, I actually want to do something to make a contrast for this atmosphere, but then it might break the whole impact for this piece. So I just make the title of this post contradicts the mood of this art. Basically, this character of mine is not a ghost is what I'm saying, just an unfortunate impression of her appearance is all XP.
Anyways, enjoy!
