End of last year ive got a chance to travel to Sydney with my family for my 2nd time after my last visit in the year 2001 or something i could not really remember.
I started off sketching from a quick 6 mins impressionist sketch at the jetty while waiting for our ferry to go to Cockatoo Island where ill be meeting the fellow Sydney Urbansketchers whom i met during our USK Symposium in Manchester in 2016. They had arranged a sketchcrawl to accomodate me being there and introduce me to interesting places in Sydney how sweet of them. ☺️
Rooi Ping Lim with a bunch of them turn up and the weather was perfect when we was there. Cockatoo Island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located at the junction of the Parramatta and Lane Cove rivers, in Sydney Harbour where the have all these wonderful historical warehouse and cranes. find out more about it here! >> http://www.cockatooisland.gov.au/
So this was what i did in about an hour...
and felt intimidated by their awesome drawings...-.-
It was definitely a memorable session. 🙂
After the sketchcrawl we continued sightseeing in the city center and stop for a quick sketching a couple of time in Darling Harbour with my siblings.
Top one is my brother Haryth's drawing and the bottom one is mine.
And last but not least, we stop by at the famous Opera House to get a closer look (and sketch!).
As the harbour bridge was in view as well i decided to sketch them too...
extended the drawing on another paper to make a panoramic sketch of the whole composition! 😁😁😁
(Well it was too long so i asked my sister to take the photo while i was holding the drawings with my both hands 😜)
Last time i was there i have not started sketching but i do have a photo here...
Tadaaa~...😂😂😂😂 this chubby nerdy boy with a safety strings for his spectacles. Lol.
And this was how puberty hits me like a truck 😎 lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 okbye!
Oh wait!
Ive got one more!
The passport sketching. The controversial one 😜
Im sure ill be back here someday. Until next time Sydney! ☺️ 🇦🇺 #klsketchnation #urbansketching #travelsketch
Wow,lovely
Thank you! :)
It looks really good! How do you start sketching? do you just observe and draw it straight away?
Thank youuu! :) yup. All my urbansketches were done on location, live. Im quite bad in drawing from imagination so i always draw from a real scene as reference. :)
That's great, real scene is a good reference! And its so cool to have all your family drawing together :) Good family time ;D
an exciting experience that you had and your sketching it's really nice bro.
hehe thank you..:)
It's so awesome that you and your siblings share the same hobby! And are those matching #klsketchnation shirts? All very, very beautiful work - each style is so different from the other and says a lot about the artists' personalities! LOL puberty hit you like a bus - the internet has been calling it a "glo up" like a play on the words "glow" and "grow." I'm still an ugly duckling and I hope I get my glo up soon!
Haha thank you. Almost my whole family draws. Guess it runs in our blood lol. 😂 yeahh thats our tshirt! We have a community actually my family will bring the matching KLsketchnation tshirt whenever we went travelling to meet other urbansketchers! Im so blessed theyre so supportive like that! 😁😁
Haha dont worry i believe that theres no ugly duckling, each and every of all us ducks is unique! Sometimes all we need to do is to explore different perspectives! 😉😉😉
Looks so fun drawing together ><
Its always fun to do it with others! :)
what youre doing is gonna be big and glow..be ready!!..salute to all sketchnation!!
Thank you! InsyaAllah ni semua atas inspirasi otai2 semua jugak 🙏🏼🙏🏼😁
