How To Not Lose Your Mind In The Steem-Engine Economy

in #steem-engine5 years ago

It's an exciting time on the Steem blockchain!

Development is everywhere. Projects are being launched. Communities are being built...And some of the most intriguing potential is coming from the Steem-Engine platform...

Wow, what a few months it's been!

Since Steem-Engine launched ScotBot, ScotTube and the vision of what SMT's could become...The blockchain has been alive with the sweet sound of...Hope!

And while we're seeing huge successes like PalNet, SteemLeo and SteemCoinPan...It can get a little confusing to the everyday user of Steem...That now sees dozens of new front end condensers to interact with each unique community AND the Steem blockchain.

Remember when it was simple...Steemit, Busy and Steempeak....

Now it seems like every day, we're being introduced to a new community with it's own token...

And that's exactly what Steem and SMT's were designed to become...

However, like I mentioned...It gets SUPER confusing to the new Steemian looking to keep up with all the development taking place.

Here's my advice for jumping into all the different communities and potential 'earning' on each token...

FOCUS!

If you spend any amount of time on Steem, you'll see hashtags that are trying to cater to every single community out there...

For anyone that's keeping score...That's tagging the PalNet community. And we have the SteemCoinPan community. Let's not forget the Sports Talk Social group...And finally, for good measure...Let's knock it out of the park with the Steem Leo community.

So we've come to the point where Steemians feel the need to tag every community out there...

I get it, it's exciting! These new tokens seem to pop up on Steem-Engine and almost immediately have value. However we are going to burn ourselves out trying to keep up with everything...Plus the fact that there are already accounts out there looking to control the abuse some people have been doing when it comes to these hashtags....

So again my advice...Is to focus!

Find a few communities that you believe in and see value, then start contributing to them. Join their Discords and get involved...Use the hashtags that you UNDERSTAND instead of just throwing tags out there for the sake of it.

For me, I try to stick to what I know and understand;

I see the big value in PalNet, this is the definition of community on Steem.

There is MASSIVE potential in Steem Leo and we are all 'investors' when it comes to Steem in my opinion.

And when it comes to Sports Talk Social...I have plenty of rants on @The-Sports-Nerd's Sunday night talk show.

Other than that....I don't understand SCT, so I don't have any FOMO for not tagging it. ( Plus I think my Korean language skills are severely lacking...) I'm not yet addicted to Splinterlands, but that's coming and I'm sure I will start using SPT in my tags when the time is right...

Because at the end of the day, I'm not trying to go over board. I'm focusing on what I KNOW...And that's the critical part to this message.

You will get so much more when you FOCUS on a few communities and stop trying to be a jack of all trades. We've got PLENTY of time to learn each community...But for now, focus on a few...Don't worry about tagging them all everyday.

I hope this helps...Because BOY OH BOY....We're on the cusp of changing everything when it comes to the blockchain. It's a very exciting time to be here :)

Sort:

That introduction of the steem.engine has really helped to realise the dead hope of many to resurrecting it

It really has...Put brand new life into Steem and I can't wait to see what the future holds.

Yes, this is good advice. Just like in real life one can only participate in a limited number of communities. Also a posts content needs to be relevant to the community tagged, otherwise it risks flags.

Yes this is really COOL details for the STEEM engine. Let's see how prolle is accepting it. ☺️👍

Posted using Partiko Android

It's doing pretty well right now, plenty of potential and some great communities developing.

Some nice tips here, that start to be really hard...

Oh no doubt...Good to see all these communities taking shape, but it can be confusing for many....Go slow, focus on a few...Don't get overwhelmed

STEEM-Engine DEX is a game changer for our Blockchain

Man...Is it ever. I think if this is just a taste of what's to come with SMT's...We're going to see $7.77 Steem a lot sooner than we expect :)

Let’s together make it $7.77 $STEEM happen this year

177 Days left and every minute count

Just looking at your not yet staked LEO's, @nathanmars , and wondering "WHY?"

I been focusing on PushBook Startup and Building STEEMArmy on Twitter

Thanks a million for letting me know

I've staked my LEO now :)

I am staking every token I get... no matter what... =) Just don't have time to sell them LOL (yes what an excuse!... but true).

What's MINE it's mine!

Time >> Money
People >> Token

My philosophy is
I invest in myself
I invest in people

The best part is that if I get an upvote on this comment, I would probably earn STEEM, PAL and LEO at the same time. Great tips @jongolson. It actually gets better with time and focus. Cheers!

Absolutely...That's what blows my mind of how this eco-system and entire blockchain will grow...We are just at the beginning of this stuff...It's crazy to imagine where we will be in a few years from now.

Having you on board Steemleo is a game changer! You do an amazing job making the blockchain accessible to anyone and everyone and you are one of the most engaged Steemians out there. Keep up the good work and we hope to see more of your amazing investment content on #steemleo!

appreciate that very much. and absolutely love this community you guys are building. it’s exactly what people need...investment talk for the rest of us lol cause dollar cost averaging is all i know lolol

Posted using Partiko iOS

Thank you :) haha the funny thing is that knowing dollar cost averaging puts you ahead of at least 80% of the average investors out there 🧡

I just like simple...I do the index investing too because I can understand it. LOL Anything too complicated and I turn into a turtle and hide in my shell LOL

so what? You know one of the major rules our there.

It is all getting confusing and I hope it does not fragment the community too much, but then you can see everything on the general sites. At least LEO and SportTalkSocial can cater to those specific topics and may help build communities. My interests are pretty broad, but I could put my running posts on SportsTalkSocial. Interesting times.

oh absolutely. that’s what is so exciting to me. the more targeted the community the more potential it has i believe. so for sports it’s not just professional stuff. i can be anything and most definitely running.

Posted using Partiko iOS

And these communities are or will likely compete against one another based on the value of it’s own token.

Posted using Partiko iOS

could be. i think the community individually will drive the price. pal and leo are two different communities with passionate steemians in both.

Posted using Partiko iOS

Thanks, but I am still pretty confused on how Palnet is adding to the community mostly for individuals that did not get any pal tokens, there isn't even a search function in Palnet. One more that could be confusing is the new DTube 0.9 you can log in or out of Steem and some videos only appear there not on steem, don't get me wrong I love it but the rules are different than in Steem. A full explanation video would be awesomeeeee.

ya dtube is a little confusing but once people understand the different communities and how to be active in the ones that attract them , it’ll get easier. good idea on the video too. i’ll see what i can do :)

Posted using Partiko iOS

Thank you 👍

Posted using Partiko Android

I'm focusing on what I KNOW

This is the key.. If we do what we know the best, we will contribute with a valuable content to the community, an with doing that, we will get more tokens and more earnings...Simple as that!

I'm trying to focus on palnet, spt and battle tags... The last one is very undervalued, so if someone is in gaming niche, check that out...

Greetings from France!

and while i’m not going to be tagging spt anytime soon...because i’m powered up with it and upvote your content. i’ll get tokens there too lol

Posted using Partiko iOS

hahaha... sound like a good idea... curation rewards will be better when I get back...

Yeah enjoy the trip man...Road trips are the best lol

@jongolson, You are absolutely right brother. Focus is vital when so much is happening and most importantly we should understand the projects at first place to understand the use case and inturn we can evaluate the value. But it's exciting for sure. Stay blessed.

Posted using Partiko Android

for sure. and it allows us to get more familiar with each community . that helps everyone in my opinion.

Posted using Partiko iOS

True. Without putting efforts in engagement, conversations and interaction we will not going to receive any clarity.

Posted using Partiko Android

Just to many shitcoins...
The steem value struggles, so does anyone can think the creating of more and more, I just call them shitcoins, can bring more value to Steem?
I have no idea how people can think in that way....
There are really other changes needed to bring more value, marketing, new users, new investors........
I only can repeat and repeat it....
Have a nice day
Tom

A voice of sanity in a cacophony of insanity deems the sane to be nuts!

these communities are what will drive steem. they are niche specific and i think eventually you are going to see them marketing themselves. which will do wonders for steem imo

Posted using Partiko iOS

I really hope so..
But I still can't imagine it....

Posted using Partiko Android

i mean this is my thinking...

let’s take steem leo for example. they have a thriving community of steemians, daily discussing investing and the ins and outs of the crypto world.

they start building that market cap to the point where the community wants to promote themselves outside steem.

they buy ads. do the marketing themselves. create community leaders to spearhead things...it’s all organic.

here’s where steem price comes in. these guys are promoting their community more people get interested in leo. they start discovering steem is the blockchain that feeds all this stuff. they discover the opportunity here.

because of leo’s grassroots marketing and advertising. steem benefits. price rises as new members and new fiat firms in to buy leo via steem engine.

Posted using Partiko iOS

Might need to check our computers for a bug.. you stole our exact plan!

Lol, in all seriousness, this is and has always been the plan for Steemleo. To be what Steemit & Steemit, Inc. should've been. To build a community that has a central focus on amazing content (for us, that's within the investing niche). Continually promote that content within our community to ensure that the best content rises to the top (see our new Daily Leo initiative) and then market ourselves to the world of investors that await.

Investing is a MAJOR category and we believe that meaningful marketing can drive hundreds of new users to Steemleo (and in the process, Steem). The goal is to get to hundreds of new users being onboarded directly through Steemleo each month and then eventually thousands of new users. How will we do it? Simple -- Facebook ads targeting our investor audience. Sponsorships with crypto companies/crypto influencers/investing influencers beyond crypto. The Daily Leo newsletter being chopped up and distributed all throughout social channels (we already got listed on Apple Podcasts/Spotify/Stitcher, etc.).

The question isn't whether there are options to grow this ecosystem, the question is how and where will we spend our limited resources because there are so many possibilities.

Huge!

Absolutely love that game plan.

I think the marketing and know-how is there, its just executing it. And if you have a community behind you, it gets a whole lot easier.

This niche you guys chose is absolutely brilliant to help grow this platform and blockchain. Can't wait to see where Steem Leo 'grows' from here! ;)

🚀 let's take this ship together and build something awesome.. we're all going to the same moon! ;)

Lol shitcoins.

Most definitely a lot of poop coins out there lol

When can I expect "Savvy Ass Coin" SAC. I need a good sac

Posted using Partiko Android

lol SAVVY is already out there. Just not as savvy as you would like it to be lol want some?

Posted using Partiko iOS

Only when I become more savvy.

Posted using Partiko Android

Who needs SMT? 😂

OK, it is confusing, of course. Yet, eventually sound communities will prevail while others will just fade away. It's like with myriad of ERC20 tokens which have far far less practical value than S-E tokens...

Posted using Partiko Android

right. just spoke about that in my podcast. this is real use case. people can actually use this stuff everyday. erc-20. not so much lol

Posted using Partiko iOS

Too late @jongolson , lol, I have all ready gone crazy!!😵😂😵😂
❤👍 Loved your post 100% upped + resteemed!

lol thanks very much. yup i’m the same lol

Posted using Partiko iOS

Haha, your welcome! So Many New Tribes, So Little time! 😎😂

it is amazing to see all the development however everyone should be careful there is no guarantee that this will moon. I am sticking with the steem right now and tagging some post with the “Palnet” tag

Yeah nothing guaranteed...But what Steem has, that most blockchains dont...Is real people. Real relationships. And real engagement from different communities :)

I don't understand SCT either. But you getting into Splinterlands sounds great. The game has been booming a lot.

yeah. it’s something i have been wanting to do for months now. just seems so confusing lol

Posted using Partiko iOS

It has been quite a journey but it has been great seen these rise above as it allows us to really cater to these communities and their interests. I am trying to focus on one piece of content for each every week!

Posted using Partiko iOS

I just wrote a weekly schedule in the @SteemSavvy Discord server about that very topic...One community a day, focus on it...

This is what I wrote....

Saturday / Sunday - Steem related stuff / Investing
Monday - SteemSavvy Session
Tuesday - Noob Night
Wednesday - Roadto300SP
Thrusday - Freestyle / Whatever comes to mind
Friday - Dtube Book Review

and then stick a community tag in each...so I'd do:

Saturday / Sunday - Steemleo / Palnet
Monday - Palnet
Tuesday - Palnet / Steemleo
Wednesday - Palnet / Steemleo
Thursday - Palnet
Friday - Palnet

This will end up being a blog post on Thursday I think lol

I think i am young and smart, but smart tokens just take control over me. I can't have all these tokens it's just impossible to jump into everything and met all the communities! #newsteem looks like very diffrent magic place, which i will never know till the end, because there is so many new things!

LOL So true....It's addicting to see all these new projects and try your hand at each of them. I just hear from my community how confused they are even after taking just a day or two away from Steem...Best advice I can think of it...Pick a few, stick with them and learn and contribute to each community :)

It is very hard to keep track of it all it seems like everyday there is a new coin on steem-engine to check out. New program or group try to get your eyes to focus on them.

yup. that’s why we need to focus. pick one or two. focus on them. and contribute to its community. that’s the best way to use these tokens in my opinion

Posted using Partiko iOS

We really need to focus, that's for sure. We might manage now, when there are about a dozen communities (and we still don't feel the need to be part of every single one of them), but when there will be 100, what will we do then?

Anyway, my Korean sucks too, lol, but I did translate some of their posts when I wanted to understand what they are all about, and they were quite interesting. Still would find awkward to tag SCT, unless I talk about SCOTs or new interfaces broadly, and SteemCoinPan comes up.

lol right. but what a community and token to invest in. it’s leading the pack for sure.

nothing saying we can’t curate. stake some coins and curate some stuff.

but you won’t find me posting with that hashtag lol not yet at least ;) lololol

Posted using Partiko iOS

Nah, for now I'll stick to the few communities I focused on. I want to add Steem Leo to that, but I don't write as often about investing, or at least not in the traditional way.

that’s what’s awesome about that community. i’m pretty sure they don’t want 100’s of TA articles lol

the best thing about investing is we can talk about everything. from the emotional side of things. to the risks. to the wins and loses. so much to share i think :)

Posted using Partiko iOS

Yes, I've seen some very good posts that approach investments from different angles. And in a way, what we are doing here on Steem, is at least part investment.

Good @jongolson sir
