4th Installment
This is the forth time we are having our Liberal Latte act where we bring the music to your doorstep. We bring it live. It would be a waste to confine the talents to just Dtube, Dlive or Youtube link. So, we thought that a good way is to invite people who are not yet on the Steem Blockchain to witness the event and at the same time enjoy themselves.
Simple Recap
The night started off at 9.10 p.m. and we have one of the top legal mind in our country as a guest. He is none other than Professor Dato' Gurdial Singh Nijar. He was interested in the talk on blockchain by @ninjaboon (aka Colbert from Celebrus Advisory).

(Professor Dr. Gurdial Singh Nijar is a strong advocate of Human Rights in Malaysia and he champions many causes)
The talk started off with buzz.lightyear talking about blockchain 101. Which is the basic introduction to how the technology works and how Satoshi introduced this to the world. He also gave an example of how a small community can interact and function in a blockchain ecosystem.
The next progression was how blocks works and how the proof of work (POW) exist as a system of validation through a process called 'mining'. A question was posed by the floor asking if the blockchain is hackable. His response was, yes, the blockchain can be overtaken but the cost to do so may overwhelm the benefit that the hacker could derive from doing so.
He gave some everyday examples of how the blockchain can be implemented in our society and how the company in which he works plays a fundamental role.

Credit has to be given to @buzz.lightyear to take the effort in explaining some basic concepts such as ICO (initial coin offering) and White Paper to the audience.
Celebrus Advisory
This company is involved in many ICO consultancy matters both within Malaysia and in other countries. Colbert or better known as @ninjaboon is the first Certified Bitcoin Professional in Malaysia. He is the founder of Celebrus Advisory and he was the second man to take the floor. Here he explains the importance in choosing the right investment, reading the utility behind each coin and understanding the basic fundamentals of investment which involves research and understanding.
His advice is timely because people do often fall for scams such as ponzi schemes, financial fraud and other investment related scams. He also reiterated the idea of keeping passwords confidential to the account holder.
Overcoming Odds
Its is part of our initiative that Steem-Music should not just be about music, but it has a wider purpose. A benevolent one. If people are getting together because of music, let us take this platform to deliver something of value. We have so many influential individuals that are capable of empowering and delivering valuable content. That night, we have the lovely @jassicania who had bravely fought cancer and was triumphant in that battle. If anyone deserves to speak about overcoming odds, we definitely cannot see how anyone would overlook her achievements.
She was inspirational that night. She was stunning as well. She spoke about how she discovered that she has cancer and it is almost insurmountable. Here are the notes in point forms.
- factually the odds are stacked about her
- she decided to take charge
- she decided to go against conventional medical care
- the decision was made after understanding her condition
- she went through a tumultuous time juggling her career, her finances, her family, her love life, her health and above it all, to maintain a degree of level headedness in battling this scourge
- how she dealt with the aftermath of the entire event
- how she kept herself positive
- she explained why she kept her hair and even gave a recommendation to @sireh on her hairdresser
- how she dealt with the 3 rounds of chemotherapy and decided that it is enough
There is one part of her speech that I cannot do justice by putting it in point form. If I have to drive home one point in this article, it has to be this. There is truth and there is facts. There is empirical studies and there are statistics but our body and mind are not shackled by all these figures and facts. The question that one ought to ask and in the words of Jassica Nia is this,
'What is your truth?'
The one truth that you persuade your mind to believe. That is your truth. One personal to you and your struggle. I can relate to that. Those few words are empowering. For a moment, I think that anything is possible it is just persuading and disciplining the mind to accept the truth that you have sculptured. That was my Eureka moment. The moment of self discovery and wisdom.
The Music Hits the Floor
When I first invited @jassicania to perform, I told her, it is the imperfection that makes the performance'perfect' and relatable. Little did I know that Jassica was a trained singer and her mother was a professional singer. I do not have a recording of the performance that night, but here is her entry into our competition which is setting a high benchmark for all the contestants.
The Bribery Before Performance
I am not all that 'clean'. I did resort to some bribery to ensure that the performers are well fed, happy and glad to perform. So I have a good spread of coffee, English Breakfast (for @edward-ong) and salad (for Jassica) for dinner.
The Amazing @edward-ong, @grayarty and @kymio
Edward Ong was simple blazing. He got some tongues wagging and he definitely got the crowd wanting more. He gave 4 songs.
Then @grayarty a classical guitarist shared how his love for singing had turned him into a guitarist. All in the effort to accompany his singing. He sang to the lovely song by Eric Clapton, 'Wonderful Tonight'.
Then @kymio in his usual style, got everyone to sing along with a classic Malay song called 'Kau Ilhamku' (you are my inspiration) and another English cover. Everyone had a great time till @perennial who reminded that the night is coming to an end and everyone gotta hit their bed soon.
@abgmie must be so proud of his son who is both a talented artist and a good musician.
Liberal Latte 28th April 2018

@jassicania and @edward-ong totally blew off the crowd...amazing, excellent, awesome, whatever words I have to describe out of this world.
