Building Communities One Trail at a Time

"Trail and Trail, what is Trail?"

As an incentive and as a reward, SteemTrail has created a tradable token for our community - Trail Coin. It allows the admins to equally recognize the efforts of authors and curators regardless of their Steemit status. It is currently available via an Open Ledger account and has trading pairs with STEEM and other cryptocurrency.

How to get TRAIL?

You can earn TRAIL via participation rewards or by trading on Open Ledger. TRAIL is deposited into your Open Ledger account by StreemTrail.

Currently, there are four participation rewards for TRAIL.

  1. Follow the SteemTrail trail on Streemian.com. If you haven’t signed up yet, go to Streemian, set it up and pick “steemtrail” as an operator. For each vote StreemTrail makes on your behalf, you’ll receive one TRAIL. We’re averaging about 80 votes per day, with expectations of eventually approaching 100. NOTE: If you are using another reliable method (ie. CLI wallet or voting bot) to follow SteemTrail, please let us know and you will be included.
  2. Write great content. The author of each article that the @SteemTrail account upvotes will also receive one TRAIL. SteemTrail (or one of the other trails) will leave a comment indicating that your article was upvoted, which will serve as your claim to one TRAIL.
  3. Participate in a SteemTrail. SteemTrail Curators that are active in at least one trail will receive participation rewards of 300 TRAIL per week.
  4. Author content for your trail. 200 TRAIL for each article.

Thank you for helping to make SteemTrail successful. Together, we’ll continue promoting participants and the Steemit community as a whole.

Happy TRAILs!

Thank you @cheetah, this is a reference post so that I don't have to include it in every subsequent post, but can just provide the link.

If you can describe how this benefits ALL STEEMIANS in a couple of sentences, otherwise it is little more than a Clique Coin, fueling few.

At the very least, as it incentivizes authors to create higher quality posts (TRAIL is awarded on observed quality, not popularity or reward algorithms), it can cause the value of STEEM to rise. One of the contributing factors to the lasting value of STEEM is the archive of quality, searchable posts, in the same way that Quora and Wikipedia have value. Increasing the value of STEEM > by improving posts > by offering an egalitarian reward based on quality > helps all Steemians.

There are other ways it helps all Steemians, such as by attracting authors to our community building efforts and more. TRAIL coin itself is a small but important point in a much wider effort whose sole guiding criterion is to build Steemit and STEEM.

I see ..thank you for your complete and professional reply - you make a good case for it! Hope it goes well.

Great explanation! I hope this clears up any confusion from people who still aren't certain what a TRAIL coin is or how to obtain it. This is such a huge help for the community, and I hope that more people would participate in this.

I follow streamtrail on streemian, however I'm not receiving trailcoin on Bitshares. My bitshares username is pairmike.

Please advise.
