RE: How should Steemit Inc decentralize their stake?

in #steem7 years ago (edited)

I think you had some interesting views in your post and I read in one of your comments that you mentioned communities. In my opinion that is the key. If you give away SP to single users they will most likely abuse of it and only their closest users will benefit, not the whole platform. You can actually help more users if you delegate SP to accounts belonging to communities. Delegation also will act as a motivator to use the SP responsibly and communities should be able to automanage themselves. Maybe they could come up with objective criteria to establish which communities are more likely to benefit the largest number of users. It's not an easy task but more should be done to improve distribution and prevent abuses. It doesn't feel very decentralized if only a handful of users get most of the rewards, leaving just some change to be divided among the remaining thousands of users. Just look at the trending page and you will see the same users have multiple posts ranking high (with ridiculously high payout) while the vast majority of posts never makes it even to the bottom of the page. A better distribution may attenuate this issue. Placing a cap to how much of the rewards can go to a single post may also help to distribute more fairly.
