I've been a trader for 8 years but I've been designing websites and optimising for search engines for the last 15 years and actually one of the main reasons I joined Steemit was because of how well structured the website core is.
The platform is setup nicely to rank very well and with plenty of original, high-quality content being published daily - I think there is a good chance that we will see more Steemit posts ranking highly for popular search terms in the future.
However, that being said... there are also many publishers posting content simply for a numbers game - a chance of getting votes and this type of low-quality publishing could prove to be detrimental if it grows with the growing number of publishers. There are ways for Steemit to address this, but that is for another post ;)
Congrats on your #1 Ranking by the way!
