I’m on my way to NOLA for a brief stay. I’m headed to give a workshop at the libertarian national convention. I got here by way of having Adam Kokesh on my radio show. He’s a candidate for president. His campaign chair Angela invited me. So here I go.
politics
I’m no stranger to politics. I ran for state office. I won six thousand votes. I lost, but I’m thankful. That starry eyed kid ran as a Democrat. I still hold progressive values. All people deserve a good education, food, access to the internet, shelter, and peace. I have since stopped believing this government is at all capable of delivering on those ideals.
choice
When I think of government I think there are too few. We have 7 billion people and 170 governments. That’s not enough competition or enough choice. In my ideal world when a human reaches 18 they can choose what government they would like to subscribe to and for how long. Some people may want a nanny state. Let them choose it. Some may want a libertarian republic. Let’s make that available. Let’s stop pretending that the USF or any government truly serves its people well.
I think it should look like picking health insurance. What plan, at what cost, for which benefits. Then everyone can have what they want.
Government can serve a convenient and good service. That’s why it’s such a shame we have such a shitty organization running our country.
Peace, Abundance, and Liberty
The world is at war. We are empoverished from central banking. We are spied on daily by those we entrusted to keep us safe. The world is upside down and needs a heavy dose of PAL. I’m hoping that by exposing libertarians to the block chain that we can have a measure of free speech protected by code than people.
Should be fun.
I support smaller government. I think Libertarian is better than progressive but politics is local and usually locally it's a one party system which is almost never the libertarian party.
I hope not, it turns out that progressives can no longer support the concept of free speech
I know you support free speech though, have fun at the convention, are you representing MA?
I think you meant "impoverished" but there is less war, famine and lack of freedom than ever before.
Fantastic good work and keep it up
That's just awesome! I wish you the best! Dont forget to record everything and make a post on it!
I am not sure why the last words stuck with me 'should be fun'. I am glad that you have such a good attitude towards politics.
I could never really deal with it. Either it was depressing or it was frustrating. I just never had enough conviction in it to try to stay and power through.
Awesome last few sentences.
It's interesting (to me anyway) how you word this. I see the words competition and choice, and think free-markets. If we did have this choice as you wish for, it wouldn't be called a government, it'd be called an association.
I am with you that the need for choice is paramount and we should strive to bring that about sooner than later.
Steem is a big platform.
All the best !!! I believe you have being looking forward to see how it will go. Nevertheless, Its going to be a fantastic experience especially if this is your first public speaking. Just be cool ; anxious to get your feedback....
Will be interested to hear how this goes. What is the workshop you are giving?
We don't yet have any developed Libertarian Party in the UK. I haven't yet quite worked out where it would fit on the British political spectrum.

Way too few choices for healthcare nowadays too very similar to the elephant or the donkey. Go get em!
I didn't know you had an eye for politics...No doubt, it would be fun, @aggroed.
While I can relate to the general sentiment , the following example doesn't really work in the US context .US has probably one of the most inefficient health outcomes system.
This also underscores a lot of issues with Libertarianism (IMO) , if you have enough resources to begin with the system works for you ( buy a good insurance policy) but if you don't have enough resources out of the door it would be pretty damn near impossible to break free from the vicious cycle of poverty.
Test
@aggroed yes, yes, and yes! Good stuff! Block chain may save us yet! :-) thanks for the article.
