It goes without question that smoking is hazardous to your body and health. But hey! I don't judge. You are free to smoke all you want as long as it's away from me and others who don't smoke.
But when it comes to a pregnant woman smoking, it's a whole other issue. You are actually putting many risks, not only upon yourself, but also on you unborn child.
Lets take it from the beginning. Smoking during pregnancy increases the risk os miscarriage. And if you don't misscarry, you're as risk of having an early labor (preterm labor). And if you don't deliver early, your child is expected to be underweight and with poor health.
Recent issues of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist also stated that there is increased risk of birth defects in yiu child.
Reducing the number of cigarettes per day will definitely reduce the risk of the above mentioned problems. But even one smoke per day still carries a risk.
