A lot have i heard about how this site works, it is actually quite simple: You create content, upvote or commnent it and "magically" you start making some really nice virtual Steem Dollars. However, nothing comes from nowhere, everything has a begining, there is a source for all things that happen in the existencial world.
The real origin of my doubt was when i compared Steemit with the system stablished by those traditional social networks (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, you call it..) where the economy flows and therefore, the site exists, because you - as a creator that is being followed by a certain group of people who likes what you do - are redirecting potential customers of some product towards the webpage, your channel/profile, where that content is located, and more globally the Social Network where that webpage is in, so advertisors pay you directly or to the site to put there their advertisements and so on and so on.
Now, what i "kind off" explained before was only to introduce you to the premise of the problem: If Steemit has no advertisors, then who is paying me?
Well, lets put it this way: When people upvote you, or comment in Steemit, what they are actually doing is virtually purchasing the steem the steem miners have collected. That creates demand over the currency, the steem coin; In consequence, the prices go up by act of the natural laws of economy and the miners end up with a currency that actually worths real money, allowing them to produce income for themeselves as well as for the participative community.
The fact it worths something motivates people to also buy them, creating more demand and helping even more.
That's of course my own understanding of this system, have in mind that i am only trying to scratch the surface with this post and i can't go any deeper as i have just been approved quite recently, so it is a very simplistic point of view the one i expose here.
Be well and STEEM!
Upvote if you like, comment your thoughts if you want but overall, care for nothing else than to be.
