It may just be me but I wish they would be more open to the community and address/inform us to the real reason all these changes our taking place. How can something start so strong begin to down swing so drastically and now need massive changes just to stay a float? If people "aka" the developers would be 100% honest with everything and share the true agenda it would be less confusion on the state of position with this platform.

I think they were pretty open with their reasoning in their original blog post, and have been very responsive to the community's questions and concerns.

If you are in the mindset that all of this is an evil conspiracy and nothing they say is going to satisfy you unless they confess to their 'evil plot', then I'm afraid you will probably never be satisfied.
Have you not been following the the steemitblog? I was feeling the same way until a few weeks ago when they started telling us all the plans. It seems to me that they are being pretty transparent and that is pretty damn cool! They proposed some changes and listened to everyones input and now are moving forward. Whats not to like? IMO the price spike is a natural thing to happen when speculators get carried away. I confident the price will begin to trend upwards soon. In part because of these changes.
The super high interest rate on steem power was the big issue (for example 279% at one point back in july and slowly dropping daily), causing more sell pressure than buy pressure (happens to every super high interest coin like HYP, HYPER, etc etc. I've been warning about this since july). The changes address this issue very well, with a 1.425% APR on steem power for starters, decreasing every year by roughly 0.075% until it hits a minimum of 0.075% and stays there. No more high interest inflation issues means LONG TERM people will get back to normal speculation and demand / value will fluctuate only based on normal factors (perceived value based on features / platform feasibility / dev team performance / etc etc). SHORT TERM, it MAY (just a guess) be a bumpy ride as people who were locked in a 2 year exit window have the option of a 3 month exit window...we'll see soon enough.
Because cryptocurrency. ;)
