STEEM vs SBD (33)

in #steem7 years ago

This post is just my personal opinion. This is not a call to action. This is faster post-question.

I'm collecting STEEM, not SBD. For this, I have several reasons.

The first reason.
My blog on Steem to me is my business project. That is why my reports and accounting should have one currency. In order to understand whether I have a profit, and what profit. One currency is just for reporting.

The second reason.
I expect a great growth of STEEM. This is a functional currency system. It's like the fuel of our Blocchain. SMT will be made based on STEEM. I hope I understood the situation correctly.
In order to make a SMT, you must first buy STEEM, not SBD.

I do not say that the SBD is bad. No, SBD is an integral part of our Blocchine.
It's just that easier for me to live.

If this is true, then you should consider powering up 100% on every post/comment as opposed to splitting your rewards between Steem & SBD. You can do this in your "Settings" tab by selecting "Power Up 100%":

No, you shouldn't. It's rare that that will get you more SP than choosing default, because SBD is usually more than $1 on the market these days. Choosing default and then using the internal market gets the best results right now.

The only case where it's better to power up 100% is when SBD is trading below $1.

That's assuming that you don't convert the SBD to Steem, and that the price of SBD increases more favorably to the price of Steem (i.e. the exchange rate between Steem & SBD decreases compared to the exchange rate existing when your payout was received).

EDIT: I saw a flaw in my original calculation and updated it below. You're correct.

Any place where there is no formula noted below a given cell is a static number.

The # of SBD per Steem in the first picture is an actual rate on the internal Steemit market. The same value on the second picture is the actual value of Steem Price divided by SBD Price, plus approximately $0.01 to account for "market fees".

I power up 100 percent. It may not be more efficient but it does make things simpler.
