There is a lot that goes into being a super-star Steemian. Between understanding post rewards, reputation, witnesses, voting power, Discord, etc — the task seems daunting...

There are many incredible creators that are just-a-lil lost with all this "bitcoin" stuff.
If we teach them to navigate these steemy waters properly, they will stay afloat.
Thats where The Steem Soirée comes in —
an evening filled with Steem education and celebration, complete with libations/snacks and team building games. Guests will be guided through the intricacies of this rapidly growing platform and have an amazing time with their new Steem family from all around the world. Magic is in the air.
The evening features 2 events, the Steem Seminar and the Steem Social. In the initial Steem Seminar, we will guide everyone through the basics of all blockchains, and how to navigate the Steem blockchain with Steemit. We will also guide our guests through Discord to sign up with both the Peace Abundance and Liberty network and the Steem Institute of Technology channels. Here they will be connected to people and resources to answer any further questions they have, as they share their unique perspectives and creations, while learning and drawing inspiration from others.
We have started a #library-of-knowledge on the SIT Discord for anyone to learn from or contribute to! Pinned messages will contain sacred scrolls of knowledge and other curriculum tools — lets build a wealth of knowledge to help in ANY steemy situation one may find themselves in.

Our imaginations know no bounds. Maybe we’ll get a piñata. Or we’ll smash a guitar. Or serenade you with an impromptu acapella performance as we fire party poppers and dance with sparklers in dinosaur onesies. You never know what you might see.

Following, lies the first draft of our outline/summary for the Steem Seminar.
We would absolutely love any feedback to ensure the best learning experience possible from day 1 of the Steem Soirée! We are committed to continuous reflection, so we can grow and adapt as the platform does. If you think we should add/change/delete anything, please let us know in the comments below. We will absolutely take it into consideration, and hopefully spark up some interesting conversation!
EVENT BREAKDOWN/SUMMARY
Steem is a platform that rewards people for using their brains.
Especially, people using their brains to create and discover quality content of all kinds so that the best material on the internet earns the visibility and rewards that it deserves (While ads, spam, censorship, etc., become remnants of the past). At least, that is the goal. Spamming or posting lame/lazy/unoriginal content can result in lowering your rewards and reputation, discouraging such actions. Steem is decentralized — no one entity or group of people own it — so if other people on the platform feel you are contributing value, your content will be immortalized on the Blockchain. No one can be banned or censored. Speak your mind and post what you desire! (But especially when first starting out don't be a Richard(DICK!) or you may be down-voted, aka "flagged", and lose some rewards or visibility.)
The most revolutionary idea here in creating THE IDEAL SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM is the monetary aspect.
Authors and Curators are payed in cryptocurrency that is — right now — about double the value of a US dollar. Steem and Steem-Backed-Dollars can be sold at an exchange and transferred to your bank account.
This monetary aspect also helps in other ways besides paying users…
Why post lame or plagiarized content when you could be flagged and lose money or reputation?
Why be a Richard and make enemies when you could make friends and maybe a few extra bucks?
Why spam when it will only hurt you?
Now some may wonder, why not just upvote 1000’s of things and print money out?
This question brings us to the second most revolutionary idea. Voting power.
The more you vote, the less each vote counts.
I believe, right now, if you vote around 20 times a day with a 100% vote it will be fully replenished within 24 hours (if anyone has more solid numbers I would love to update this!), so that encourages users to make their votes count! The better placed your votes are, the more money you will make by helping curate good content. That being said, as a new user, these rewards will be negligible until you build up more Steem Power by commenting and posting, or by investing and buying/renting some.
Revolutionary idea three: Steem Power
On most traditional social media sites, one tactic to cheat the system is to make many accounts and use them to boost your influence. Any of these “fake” accounts have just as much influence as a real one. On Steem this is managed by needing more Steem Power to have more influence. 1000 accounts with the base amount of Steem Power you start with, could maybe vote a post to $5. But many INDIVIDUALS on this platform have built up their accounts so they can vote over $10, even $100’s.
Steem Power is also a great way to get people to reinvest their rewards and continue using their accounts, because more Steem Power means you can give more valuable votes, (without “spending” your own money). New Steem is generated constantly like any other currency, but consistently and transparently. Most of this new money goes to the "Reward Pool". And we “vote" on who should receive what portions of that Reward Pool.
Another parameter of Steem Power is that it takes 13 weeks to withdraw, helping to steady those shaky hands in lean market times.
Each week 1/13th of the requested withdraw is released to the user.
To me, Steem is all about legitimate connection.
It’s refreshing coming from traditional social media sites like Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, where it can seem the only way to grow is by spamming likes, comments, and follows. Here we reward quality over quantity. However, even for the most talented creators, this is not a get-rich-quick scheme. Most posts made at the beginning will not make much money, but if you engage and post good content you’ll probably get a nice lil jackpot every once in a while from a curation team, winning a contest, or some benevolent whale (Users on Steem are categorized as ocean creatures to describe their level of influence on the platform. Plankton, Minnow, Dolphin, Orca, and Whale — at least, that’s how many, myself included, like it)
Search for content and creators you actually enjoy and/or think are valuable to the community, no matter their status. Interact with those ocean creatures and connect. Build up your feed with content you will enjoy seeing by following the creators of the content you find and truly enjoy. Leave thoughtful comments on work you appreciate. Dive into some Discord groups like the PAL network. There are channels for just about every interest. Make friends! Don’t worry about getting as many followers as you can. You want to forge legitimate connections of mutual respect and support; the money will come naturally by supporting good content that you like. If you fill your page with quality content, people will reciprocate the love, and you will start to form your own little neighborhood. And if you explore and interact, you will be connected into a vast ecosystem of communities. The Alliance, You Are Hope, the Steemstar Network, Steem Music Alliance, Steem Poets United, SteemUSA/Canada/UK/etc., Atom Collector Records, Steemit Poker League, Steemit Ramble, etc.

The following is an outline we will be sharing with our attendees to break down our event into chapters.
PLANKTON EDUCATION PLAN OUTLINE.
Should be about 2 hours (10 min break in between)
-1. Commence with blockchain explanation starting with this video:

Explain the difference between a few diff coins (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monaco) and their purposes before introducing STEEM, the first social media based blockchain.
Steem is one of the most advanced blockchains that exist today. To put it in perspective, bitcoin does 4 - 7 transactions per second. Steem is capable of 10,000 a second. And also leads all blockchains with over 1.5 million transactions per day. (http://blocktivity.info/)
-2. Basic Steem summary expounding on their new blockchain knowledge -
Each upvote, comment, etc is a "transaction", and new STEEM is generated every block to pay the miners (people who help maintain the blockchain), creators, and curators. The more STEEM you have, the more influence on the platform. You’re reputation will also increase, allowing you to have even more influence and make more money.
-3. Content Interface - familiarize everyone with UI and how simple things work on Steemit...
- Hot/new/trending pages
- How to use tags effectively for your own content as well as for finding good/relevant content from other creators.
- Profiles - Blog, Replies, Settings, Permissions, Wallet
-4. Post creation - Posts that do the best here provide value.
- documenting life experiences, skills, journeys, adventures.
- creation of art, music, dance, poetry, etc.
- sharing of knowledge/perspective
- crypto news/updates
- korean anything.
- development of new technologies
-5. Rewards - Keep it simple. (as possible)
There’s Steem, Steem Power, and SBD.
Rewards are split between the post creator and the post upvoters. 75% to the Author, 25% to the Curators.

Awesome, love the level of production and energy you're putting into this! I agree totally that Steem is a platform for real connection and a shift to use social media to gettting people together irl.
One thing you might want to consider - DO account generation on the spot - the account registration process through steemit is broken and might prevent from people from participating. Accounts can be generated in a few mins onsite with tools like busy.org and blocktrades.
