Yesterday I had reached out for help in the community just to reinforce my position that it's hard being a minnow. I wasnt exactly complaining, but I felt that there is little to no rewards when you put in a lot of time into an article that has good content.
IT CAN LITERALLY BE LOST IN THE STREAM.
You can get follower after follower and no response even to good articles. Steemians might have benefitted and upvoted but they have very little influence or Steem Power.
Then something happened , #whaleshares gave me the boost I needed to see that you can get rewards when you complain in a dignified manner.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a guru or a whale. I'm just here to tell you fellow minnows that you should share your passions. Join Discord and get some pointers. You might even get a little boost that you need. Also don't rack your brain. Some people do want a quick post or update in what's going on in your life.
You like my Garden?! The tomatoes will be ready in about a month. I'll take a picture when they are plump.

Don't be afraid to voice your opinion. There is division in the world, but you can be respectful about it. You CAN and SHOULD be yourself.
I do believe in the old saying, "what goes around, comes around." If we do good to others, others do good to us. There is so much wrong in our world today, every right thing that we do can go a long way. It may not be politically correct to be nice and friendly, but it is still the right and good thing do to!
Anyways I hope this was helpful to the minnows reading. I'm expecting a cool 10 cents for my efforts , and I won't complain.

I joined around the same time as you by looks of it and I can totally understand what you are saying.
It's difficult but I found that writing about things that are my passion that it helped with getting the right followers. There is a lot of follow me and I'll follow you mentality going around which can clog up your feed and unfortunately people may miss out on good material that you are spending time writing up, and vice versa.
But exactly what you said, be yourself and just write about anything that you want to write about because it will be easier to write about and you will start to earn money. Some of my posts which I think are good, have not been recognised but others which are not so good have been. In time I'm hopeful that it will get more consistent with each blog.

Good post. I'm starting to freak out myself. Getting close to my 30 day mark. Had to be away for awhile and didn't fully understand how steemit works. Nose to the grindstone now. Thanks for sharing.
don't freak out, REACH out. I have gotten a lot of upvotes from minnows and the whales are gonna have to take notice or else membership will drop. Steemit only works if it expands. When you resteem you also gain followers with similar complaints. Networking is important.

if you are on any other social media, even something you enjoyed from youtube copy the link. Some people think only original content is good. This is not true. People appreciate all forms of media that didn't reach here. Just don't SPAM. People will remove you from their feed if it's too annoying.
It is essential that you get your STEEM POWER over 500 to earn more rewards.
I did it back when it was cheap and I wish I had bought so much more. Don't live with regret! POWER UP!! The fastest way is to set your posts to 100% STEEM POWER. Steemit is a money machine, you must VEST your Steem to gain influence.
Only way to do that is to invest over $1000 for new users
