My intuition is that what the platform needs is a large middle class that has the ability to support a larger and much wider range of users here...

I wrote something along those lines five days ago. I even referenced someone's post there 😃

My community (sports betting) isn't popular on steemit and there are not many community nodes. I'm trying to be one, but with my 100 SP, all I can do is to give a moral support:

I believe that this platform would be a totally different place if we had 5k dolphins. With that number, there would be enough of diversity among them to support various niches here.

I've read somewhere that there's a steemit account with 40 million SP (don't know if true) under the control of stemit inc. If that's true, imagine if they took the 5k most active accounts that have less than 1k in SP and delegated 5k SP to each... this place would be on fire.

That was ninja mined and there is an unwritten law it won't be used. One, because of the way it was earned, two, because it is an authoritarian measure. I am sure that one day it will do something, maybe burn.yes. @steemit is the account.
