Steemit has been rapidly growing in terms of daily active users, new signups, and total posts. Steemit has also rapidly risen on the Alexa top sites list both globally and in the United States.
Steemit is currently the 1156th most used site in the world and number 536 in the United States. Steemit has climbed over 1000 spots in the last month globally.
I think that between the new users wanting to buy into Steem Power to make their upvote worth more, the bots that are buying Steem Power to sell or auction to other people, and the current Steem-lovers, there will eventually be a bit of a diminished supply available for purchase and the demand should steadily rise. I think that this means the price has a chance for a couple of quick spikes and steady gains in between as well.
I think Steem could easily hit the $8-$10 mark within the next month, but it could also take a bit longer for crypto to get out of it's lateral/bearish funk and get back into the bull market.
I believe that 2018 will be huge for lots of cryptos around, but especially for the Blockchains that are actually viable and usable projects. Steem is certainly in this category, and seeing $40-$50 dollar Steem within the next 12 months wouldn't surprise me one bit. This is actually a bit of a conservative estimate, in my opinion.
One thing that is for sure about crypto is that it is unpredictable so you never know. I could be totally wrong about the market breaking back out and Steem doing well, but most of my crypto-related hunches have been pretty on point over the last couple of years.
$100 Steem is something that could easily be seen in our near future (next couple of years), and while I am not a financial advisor and I wouldn't recommend taking anyone's financial advice without doing your own research, I know that I will be stacking up as much Steem Power as possible over the next couple of years.

I agree with you on that, we don't have many cryptos which are actually being used in real life. Steem is one of them and it has been around since a long time now. I really hope this goes on to become one of the crypto giants in the future.

Add a zero to it's all time high. OpenLedger shows it hitting near $8.00 last Jan 2nd. My prediction is Steem will be worth $80.00 sometime in 2018. Steemit will be the huge contributor to this and SMT's (smart media tokens) may just hopefully restructure our "fake news" into "real news"!
Just look at Fb's mcap more than 500 B , we know Steemit is better than Fb and it's mcap is only around 1.5B . Imagine how much steem will grow ! Fb is waste of time , we got everything here on steemit . News , gags (dmania ) , dtube , steemchat !!!!
Facebook is a spamfest of clickbait articles and posts trying to sell me watches and Shirts, that take away from the experience of using a social network.
When you click the feed you will almost never find anything that could maybe teach you something. Best case scenario you read a "15 funniest photos you would never believe!!!".
Worst case: "Share this post or someone you love will die in 15 days". Ridiculous stuff.
FB doesnt even come close in regards to the amount of valuable content i can find on Steemit with ease.
FB offers value, but finding it amidst all the filler is beyond impossible.
But FB is still larger and that add revenue that gives it mainstream credibility will keep it going for a long time.

I also think Steem will go up, maybe not as much as you think but certainly in the 20 dollar range.
$40-$50 Steem would definitely be wild if it happened. It for sure is possible and the next year on here is so exciting. Wish I got on bored quicker.

I think reading this should challenge everyone who comes to Steemit. The potential that is on the horizon should make ANYONE strive to provide great feedback to the other steemians and also push themselves to drive the community with thoughtful insight and content!
