RE: STEEM And The Internet Of Money: Why EVERYONE Will End Up With More Money Than They Can Spend

in #steem7 years ago

My questions would be: how long do you think it will take to get to that future. And do you think getting as many coins in our wallets is the way to get there faster?

Sort:

Timing the future is usually art more than science.

The one thing I can say is my observation over the last few years is that projected time tables seem to be beat quicker than expected. I mentioned in a reply that autonomous cars and 5G are occurring much quicker than anticipated just a few years ago.

As for coins, yes I do believe getting as many coins will help in the future. But even more than that, the big things is pushing the entire decentralized ecosystem forward. Obviously, that requires a ton of development, something that a guy like myself cant assist with. Fortunately, there are hundred of thousands of developers working on that end.

For the rest of us, spreading the word and adding the the blockchains, like posting on here helps a great deal. Each post and comment can be built upon. The longer the articles with the comments, the more likely that is to get a better Google ranking.

Like the manna link I gave you (the corrected one)...getting you to sign up and then start spreading the word only helps the entire process forward. Can we make a difference with that one project in the lives of hundreds of thousands in a year? That is my goal...

So how quickly is out of our hands but we can certainly assist the process by putting in the effort on our end.

Wow, that was quite an answer, it feels great that commenting and posting is actually contributing to a building a better platform. Before I read a post your wrote about this a while ago, the value of our contribution didn't even cross my mind. Even though I have a great career on paper, I feel I want to do more with my life: to explore, to have adventures in the wild, to travel, etc. All this won't happen if I'll spend most of my life going to work. So UBI and crypto is like the savior I always needed but didn't knew existed. The only question is: how do I make it work for me.

The specifics I cannot give you but in general garner enough coins that you are on stable footing.

My two biggest additions in terms of my focus are steem and manna. Those are the ones I can put effort into and get more out.

I have some I bought with fiat that I hold and will continue to do so. As I get some more fiat, I might add some more to the till.

To me it is a matter of continually paying attention to the changes taking place. As I keep saying, and it shows in some of the comments, it is a new world that is taking place and people cannot believe it.

Sorry, I should have made it clear it was a rhetorical question :) but your advice was useful nonetheless.
