I think going with the developers and a large chunk of the community is the way to go. The Steem blockchain has had a negative name to it for a long time, never mind poor recognition due to being so close to the gaming platform. Shedding the name and old stake is the best path forward. Justin can have his tiny community with no developers.

Yip you aren't wrong but don't underestimate that there are many devs out there willing to work on Steem, Splinterlands and Steem Engine for example cannot easily retool for Hive.
