I am very glad to see where your attention with the current state of the platform you are right on and I congratulate you to daily confronting the economic issues of the voting model. I really like the curation concept, not being able to sing or dance (Rocky Balboa on why he boxes-Rocky I). A thought like I mentioned to you before in a sea of comments in your last post (fans wanted--content appreciated also). Another thought, with a minimum curation on every vote (10% or whatever works for the one person armies voting themselves) and a double tiered round of curations. Round 1(front run curation round)- 0minute to day 2.5 of the post. Round 2 day 2.501 to day 5 (back run curation round). Each round has an equal curve in value, but round 1 is more geared to catch in the front of the earliest point in the post, and round 2 is geared up for closest to the finish of the 5 day period (ascending curation value for voters up to 5 days old in the post).
This way you are not ever missing the boat when a great post is released and you read three days later, and have zero shot at any curation (like this one for example, lol). You are also making voting more liquid toward the back end as well, also making bot votes possible again at another term to also make them more profitable for the user, having two "sweet spots" for posters at the time use the bots. You would have the option to cut the curation in half among these two curves, more highly value the first, or whatever everyone thinks need be done. Another unsolicited opinion from a guy that spends a lot time thinking about hypothetical scenarios. Wonderful post once again!
