I would have to disagree Carl – I don’t think it was “relentless positivity” – I’m glad that I saw a lot of positivity, but I also saw balance, constructive criticism and a general pro-active influence. I miss the positivity and all the inspiration that came with it. The loss of this content creator has left a void on my feed this last month and it has been filled with overwhelmingly more negative sentiment and content.
There is no question when you look at the data, as you have, that this content creator benefitted from the eco-system: good- I’m glad someone has! There is a case study! But surely this reflected that they were an early adopter, a high-quality content creator and a highly influential advocate for the platform.
Just in the last six months they travelled overseas (under their own steam!) to a well-regarded blockchain conference to speak on behalf of the platform in their free time. They built a successful good cause/charity which fundraised swimming lessons for children and demonstrated a use-case. They are one of the very few Steemians I know that have stood up to speak about Steem – a rare breed indeed! This person also organised the best Steem informational video contest – you remember our friend @ashtv came in second place. This person’s positive influence therefore brought about this: and many many other pieces of marketing collateral.
I will miss this positive influence, it's a loss, and I’m certain we will be worse off for it.
Now I agree with you 100% that it would be out of character for @abh12345 to leave without saying goodbye - we have some influential characters on the platform and Asher is another one I would include as a value adder.
Mr Engagement is here but The Inspirator has left the building!
Agreed.
Marly made a decision to power-down after SF2 and luck was with her - Steem needs more rags to riches stories, and more people willing to say both the good and bad. I was at that blockchain conference, and along with the charity work among other things, I think she is much deserved of what she has earned here.
Whether it was luck or judgement her timing on power down after SF2 could not have gone much better! I am really happy for her and concur she deserves it.

go to steem-engine.com.Oh I'm aware my dislike of 'relentless positivity' is unusual, also that she's done a lot of good of for Steem, hence why I haven't ever criticised her, she's hardly a bad person! Just doesn't produce content I'm interested in.
Sorry to hear her departure has had such a negative impact on you - time to step up and fill the void yourself maybe?!

Yes you make good and fair points. I could step up - I have some ideas of the type of content I could produce next.
