Thanks complexring for that explanation, I often get technical things about Steemit a bit (or a lot!) wrong, so thanks for clearing up the reason for the increased rewards.
I totally agree with the communities idea, once follow features start to come online, Steemit will look like a different place and I think a lot of the complaining will subside.
You can't please all of the people all of the time though...
