RE: Important Changes to Steemit.com and Wallet

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

Dear @Crypto.Piotr,

I'll try to be brief cause (too much people!!) and You probably already noticed I'm more in the introvert side.. That being said I'll start by saying that at first, I was really mad but thanks to the advices given to me by the good friend who introduced me to steemit, I managed to maintain calm, for I have listened to the advice of keeping in a safe, offline place all the keys, to avoid losing access to the account.

Still I do agree that this change was a bit abrupt, there was no notification indeed (don't eat me alive Steemians, at least not yet), I say this because for one to go check steemitblog is not the same as being notified (as some seem to think it is, now "You" can eat me alive), it's not that big of a deal for some, but when the 24h in one day are not enough for doing everything one must do, a little notification in advance to all the community would be appreciated and not that hard to be done, also I do agree that the change is a bit inconvenient, but, if it will create a better dynamic and somewhat better security (that, was not actually a problem, haven't been for the 3 years of steemit existence..) we'll survive this, it might be for the best (in the future maybe..).

To be completely open, for a couple of seconds thought of powering down and moving my "luggage" elsewhere, but I do like this community (except all the ingrained google association, shown by uBlock: fonts.googleapis.com ; google-analytics.com ; googlesyndication.com ; googletagservices.com ; and by Ghostery (if someone wants to check the scripts code), https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js ; https://www.googletagservices.com/tag/js/gpt.js ; https://www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js..)..

About Your p.s.'s
#1 · People really should have taken care of their keys (there were a lot of warnings since the very beginning about not losing keys =/..)

#2 · Not really but there were already some good suggestions by other Steemians, like auto-translation done by the browser..

#3 · I'm not experiencing the same problem when refreshing, only when I close the tab or window, but that is "normal" on my side

In a final note, don't stress it out brother, breathe, for now it's all "good", and one thing I've learned in life is that for as bad You might think things are, they can always become worse, and as I said previously, this might end up being a good thing (even with all the disadvantages like, the need to have multiple tabs opened and no link to return from the wallet to steemit, the ads,.. Some of this stuff can be 'easily' circumvented..)

Well, this was longer than I thought..

Wish You and Yours all the best,
Cy
