Hi everybody,
It was just 4 days ago when I was writing about how Steem was doing well, predicting it to break into the TOP 30 cryptos soon.
After being ranked one of the best 5 cryptocurrencies for investment by Weiss Ratings, a renowned independent rating agency, Steem experienced a massive growth yesterday and not only it did break into the TOP 30 at coinmarketcap.com but it actually made it into the TOP 25! (as you can see in this screenshot taken from coinmarketcap.com).
Although some other top cryptos have been in the red today, Steem has been continuing to rise and we can expect it to keep on climbing up the chart in days and weeks to come.
As for Steemit, our beloved platform, there were some promising news too. Youtube recently changed their monetization policy, which resulted in masses of youtubures with small subscribers base not getting paid for their videos any more. Many of these youtubers have already discovered D-Tube and Steemit where they can monetize their content (probably even much more effectively than on Youtube) and the word is spreading very fast on the internet.
Considering all the recent happenings, we should definitely get ready for another huge growth of Steemit and other Steem-related platforms :)

I'm sure the Weiss ratings gave Steem prices a healthy boost, but we're long overdue for a proper valuation.
Steemit is fully functional and thriving, yet somehow Steemit is valued much less than projects that have nothing but hype. It's a travesty that Steemit isn't in the Top10!
I am pretty positive that we will make it to top 10 sooner or later. I have no doubt about that. Once the mainstream adoption kicks in there will be no stopping it. Tomas

Very well said. I'm kind of excited for 2018 and how Steem and the cryptoworld will perform. Personally I'd love to see Steem getting into the Top 15 by mid-year.

Absolutely right! I am positive that sooner or later we will make ti to top 10. In all honesty I do not see it happening this year yet but with the right approach and increase promotions we could see that happening in 2019. Tomas
The promotions are gaining momentum especially the one i participate in ie #promo-steem.
The guys there are doing amazing promotions all over the world.

It really is an amazing system. I do hope Steemit takes over the other social media platforms. Steemit isn't controlled by politics and is supply and demand based on quality content. I'm telling any good creators I know about the site!

Everyone make sure you understand that steemit isnt steem.
Steem is bigger than just steemit.
It is shocking to see how low steem is still valued, just wait for the pump up to the hundreds of $'s. This will drive more people towards the steem blockchain, weather its towards steemit or some of the smart media token applications. A great HODL for 2018/2019

You've been so supportive of me in your photography contests and I'll always be grateful for that. But what you don't know is what an influence you've had on me in regards to Steem currency. I found Steem after I started crypto trading, so while I enjoyed posting photos on here, my crypto focus was on more traditional things like BTC, ETC, LTC, and some other alt coins. Around late Nov/Dec I really took notice of how fully invested in Steemit you were, including buying Steem to power up your account. During one of those crazy sell offs in mid December, I decided to take the plunge and throw my crypto profits into my Steemit account. In this last Steemit dip, I added even more. Best move I've made. Besides the financial gains, I love being able to curate and help out talented people on here. So thanks to you for being such an incredible example and influence on here. It's definitely being noticed and appreciated!

Steem is an incredible platform and is due to start moving up the ranks. YouTube has not been very kind to its loyal vloggers as of late so I agree with your statement about many of them moving on to other areas. I only just heard of DTube myself recently but have very much enjoyed watching some of my favorite posters over there. Go Steem!

wow thats amazing news. i was surprised that i got 4 out of 5 of the top5 of this rating. 2018 is going to be a great year.
We'll see - there are bound to be corrections in the next few days, but it's good to see that the overall trend is upward!
The utility of the Steem platform is starting to show its value. Also, we have a chance to attract youtubers that lost their monetization. The next hard fork, if makes it easier for people to join, could be where we see Steem become a top ten coin on the market. Plus, I waiting to see people create businesses utilizing the Steem currency.
I'm sure steemit users around the world will be more and more, because in steemit a lot of science and experience that we can right,
