I started on Steemit about a month ago, and it's been a great month so far. I've encouraged my YouTube subscribers to follow me to Steemit, I've answered questions from Steemians on YouTube, and have met great people in this community.
I've been speaking to a few Steemians about how to get more larger creators to come to the platform, and I am personally starting a project to recruit new creators to come to Steemit.
I am currently in talks with a number of news, politics, gaming, and other creators about coming to Steemit, which I believe will be terrific for the growth of the platform. Two of these creators are close to finalizing details and I'll be announcing them soon. I hope to have an announcement to make in the next 48 hours.
I am excited about this and will be using the tag steemitcreators for what I hope will be a number of upcoming introductions of new creators to Steemit. I hope you will help me in welcoming them!

I hope so as well. However, I don't really understand who so few do. Most of them could make a lot more money by posting their video over here, and just including a few "Steemit exclusive" sentences, and people would upvote that stuff. I just think there's a lot of money to be made for YouTubers over here.
You are right. I think it has to do with them not really knowing that there is a great alternative platform for their content, where they will be more rewarded. I do my part about letting my favorite youtubers know about Steemit, and so should everyone else :)
It does not even have to be an alternative platform; it can be an additional platform. They don't have to stop or reduce the use of their other platforms just because they are using Steemit. There is nothing wrong with crossposting in my opinion.
Right. So the integration from Steemit to other platforms and vice versa has to be flawless to help creators save time to cross-post.
That's a good point. I wonder if anyone has considered a type of "Sign up with Facebook/Twitter/YouTube" to make it fast and smooth to create an account here. That might get some lazy people to sign up!
I like this idea, but that would mean that the other platforms would have to be willing to cooperate and partner with Steemit Inc. in some capacity. Don't know if they are willing to do so at this point in time.
I have a radio show I'd love to bring them on. I'm thinking of hosting a youtuber panel discussion and pay the participants 100 steem each.

Have you considered that the way the Steem Inc operates is kind of unethical? They are offering a pegged crypto that sometimes pumps up to 10 or 20 dollars and goes back to 1$. You may argue that it is the fault of the investor to invest irresponsibly but still raises the question of why a pegged coin is hyped up so easily. And why the creators shouldn't be held responsible for it?
Also, they are specifically paying you and other public figures to get more people to promote it so that the top 0.01% can get even richer. Your one word comment will always be worth more than the guy who worked for three hours to write an excellent blogspot if he doesn't get noticed by a whale or someone with a high SP.
Did you read the whitepaper? SBD is a floor peg, meaning that witnesses have tools to increase the value to $1 if the price falls much below, but open market activity could drive the price much higher like we are seeing now. . The tools that witnesses have to decrease the value back towards a $1 are available but manipulating the price lower could create long term inflation and a long term issue with SBD value. Not sure how Steem Inc is supposed to be responsible for a pump of SBD on the open market. I see that you have taken advantage of the SBD price. . not sure where ethics come into play here.
No, nor do most average investors buying Steem in the market.
I figured that out considering that it only pumps one way and higher than 1$ and almost always stays at 1$.

Why wouldn't I? I am not the one responsible for managing the price. That's the job of witnesses. It is their failure.
Read the white paper before making comments and you may get your answers as it clearly states what type of peg SBD is and the job of the witness. Drastic decisions should not be made for short term moves in the market. If you don’t understand market mechanics then keep your comments to yourself, makes you look uneducated

hey fantastic @davidpakman - i recently made a course over on @teamvideo - 32 parts, over 3hr+ of information to help inform 'content creators' mainly focused on youtubers and the exodus into steemit! :) hope you would share or upvote that so it gets a bit more exposure. thanks for everything you are doing to strengthen the community.

It was only a matter of time before some bigger names realized the potential value of the steem blockchain and what steemit can offer over the traditional social media sites. While it is still small, we are going to see an explosion in 2018. This could be one of the best moving tokens as the user base jumps into the millions.

I am using a 50/50 split...well half of a half.
Of the SBDs I get in my 50/50 reward split, I turn half into SP and the other half I hold in SBD...for now.
I am going to wait and see what happens with SBD....was it just an odd pump or is there something more brewing with them?
I am a first timer here! Is splitting STE and STEEM the best idea to start? Or would it be better to begin STEEM only.
I met a friend online who told me about this and mining as well. I just set up two friends mining ELectroneum yesterday just to get some coins under our belts. It’s awesome to be apart of a community that shares a passion for this.
SBD (not STE) can be redeemed for STEEM. Right now the price of SBD is high meaning that a 50/50 split gets one 6 times more STEEM right now than normal.

Thats amazing, all of us should do anything to help grow this platform as it will eventually help every single one of us. This is exactly what I love about this platform and the whole concept. Because unlike traditional systems where you pay marketing and everything else that you need to grow your website/product here all of the work is done by the community which in end will benefit greatly from that.

I've been using steem to traffic mywebsite. I also encourage people to comment over steem rather than on my website, so i can reward them. It is a good way to keep readers engaged.

and doing great! But I would advise you to be very upfront with the people you bring here to not focus overly much on the rep score and the money they make, or they may end up very disapointed under the wrong circumstances.
The Steem blockchain itself in some sense functions as a sort of bridged "capital-meritocracy". It's really by working together, building communities of stake holders and perhaps testing other ways than Steemit.com to contribute and display the information here that you really get to discover the power of the technology.
Right now for example, I'm writing this from Busy.org, where videos from D.Tube get embeded and can be played directly from posts.
You can check out this subreddits side panel with a short list of Steem Apps for blogging, and if you want to you could link/post it in your subreddit. That way people get a wider perspective of what Steem is capable of.

I joined steemit two months ago. I have used it as a better substitute of facebook. Didn't think of doing any serious media/journalistic work on steemit. You have got me thinking.

There's many dope creators here on steemit, bringing more would be real awesome, am already keeping eyes on many projects still in their alpha and even talking stages. All I can say is in a few years, the steem block-chain is going to be completely insane, like an entire ecosystem on its own
I think it's great that your trying to bring larger creators to the platform. I think it's a great opportunity to invest into the platform as well as making some additional income. Ive been trying to get other creators to join as well. Hopefully they will and can see the benefits of steemit and it's community.

Wow I applaud the fact that you love this platform so much that you are eager to tell the masses and get others aboard. I just started on Steem about a month ago... I’m still getting used to it. I’m against some of the major social networks but I love everything this platform is about and am excited about making the best of it!

I am here creating great stuff (I am illustrator) for few months but didn't see lots of motivation to post here yet. Especially when I see tons of bots and people using different boosters to PR their posts my hands are falling down.
This is what everyone needs to be doing. It's great when the top profiles bring in members of other well known media personnel, but we can all do our part to spread the word about steem and steemit. It's too good to be kept a secret any longer

Since you're already here, my best advice:
Insightful, supportive comments which add to the conversation, and upvoting posts you think will go on to be popular, until you have at least a couple of hundred followers.
If you start blogging before that, you're going to pour hours of work into a post, only for it to be enthusiastically upvoted by both the minnows who read it.
As you get familiar with the site, you'll get better at promoting it to your existing following, to your benefit and theirs (and mine).

Just check 'replies' occasionally.
Its slow going at first, until you start making some friends; but after 16 months here I can tell you its definitely worth it.

I have talked to several YouTubers and I have had some of them come over to Steemit. There is a Facebook page we post our new posts to so it is easier for them to check out our blogs on Steemit. We are using Facebook as a tool and it works, get many over here that would have not normally came to Steemit.
