Steem is being different. I don't see what your issue is.

Well the issue is the difference between your rep and mine and how much leverage it grants you. Simply put, u could post a one line greeting and people will still swarm over and upvote, i could post a research paper and no one bats an eye.

Well that's how the world works. I posted for no reward for a long time. Then small rewards for a long time. I invested in this site when nobody cared both with my time and a little bit of outside money. I give away a bunch of money for nothing that my posts earn rather than keeping it all to my self. You just joined this month. You have to prove your worth before it will be recognized. Your comment sounds like, I just started working, why am I not CEO yet?

It's not about slowly working your way to the top with quality posts. It's clear you post meaningful content @justtryme90, but there are tons of shitposters.

I also joined this month, but just scrolling through the new threads all I see is "100 followers", "daily photo contest"! Each of those threads gets 50 responses in an hour, while this post will struggle to get 50 responses in a week (nor should it). Fortunately most of those wont ever break into a true following, but doesn't the amount of junk blogs destroy the purpose of meaningful Steem content? Especially when this behavior is nurtured by shitposting whales?

At this stage the distribution of steem out to the masses is basically the most important thing. You want the wild rewards to calm down, make the little votes worth more and the big votes worth less. (This is what the next hardfork does). The quality of visible good content will only be as good as the interests of the people doing the voting, and a factor of how dispersed voting power is. It's why I give power away through my own account and through my projects account. I think (I don't know for sure) that this is a solution and a good way forward.

If people value blogs begging for followers, and silly posts, who am I to say that they are junk? In the eyes of the community they aren't. Dont like it? Want to fix it? Get a bigger community.

The introduction of community sub sections may also help and is planned for release soon (ish).

Jolly good job sirs!, just wanna say thanks for taking the time to join in the discuss.
Im not here to hurt steemit and my posts will most likely end with a message to build the steem.
