I can’t solve or respond the big picture problems. I do the best I can with the resources available to me. Yesterday I wrote a short story... few saw the challenge or value in it. Many would consider it ‘trash’ and a suck of value from the system. What I enjoy about Steemit is the freedom to fail.

Have you checked out @thewritersblock ? @rhondak could provide more information, and there are lots of good and experienced authors involved that might be able to offer up some really effective ideas to make your writing more rewarding.
