Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for reading my previous post and providing feedbacks.
In my previous post, I shared about how challenging it was for me to try convincing my dad to join steemit. And I realized that it was not just my dad, many other steemians also had hard time trying to convince their family and friends to join steemit.
My previous post did quite well and many of you suggested me to take my dad out for dinner with my payout from steemit so that I could prove him wrong. But my dad isn’t here with us right now. So, that won’t be possible until next few months. But I have figured out how I am going to prove him that this community is not fake and we actually get paid for writing good contents.
I graduated from high school last year and I took a gap year and applied to a few universities in the USA. Because the education system here in our country is yet traditional and not much effective, I had to choose USA for a better future. Like me, many youths of Nepal go abroad for their further study because here, we aren't open to many opportunities as much as we can be there. And because I want to learn in an environment which has people from all around the world, who have different cultures and traditions from ours , I took this decision. Out of the universities I had applied for this fall, one awarded me the Presidential scholarship. And I have decided to go for that university for my future studies.
But, the major challenge here is the visa interview. So, I’ll have to face the visa interview, only then I can go to the USA to attend the university. The visa application fee is approximately $170. That’s approximately NPR 17K. So, I have decided to use my STEEM for paying the application fee.
My payout is yet not sufficient for the interview, so I’ll have to make efforts for posting articles frequently so that I can get enough money by the end of this week anyhow otherwise I might not get dates for the interview.
My parents have always worked very hard to make sure we get everything we want and there’s no way I could pay them back for whatever they’ve done. But this will be my first step towards being independent and I can't wait to see the happiness in their faces. And this isn’t only about being independent but also being able to show someone how amazing this community is. I’ll finally be able to prove to my dad that whatever he had thought about steemit is totally wrong and I'll most probably make him join steemit very soon.
I have already made my sister join steemit but she somehow lost her password and she’s trying to recover her account. So, for the time being, if I am able to make at least one addition to this community, that’ll be a great pleasure to me.
And all this is going to be possible only because of the support of the people in this community and of course, my dad :P . Thank you everyone once again. Keep up the love and support! Steem on. :)
