Reaching one million account is indeed a great news for the whole of the community. But the bad news at the same time is that a lot of the account created are not active any longer.

It saddens my heart to see us celebrating only the numeric values and not the quality.

People are working tirelessly to ensure many more people hear about steemit, but how many of this people do we retain?
Many of them just open the account and go, should we count that as achievement too? Many of the established users are having multiple accounts, what about that as well?

How I wish, the one million is indeed a real figure, it would have mean that one million lives has been touched by steemit, but are we really up to that figure?

Well, any progress is a progress, congratulations to steemit, steemit board and everyone contributed to this accomplishment.
