I have seen many guides on steemit as to how you should properly upload images and even using reputable sites I had issues and I am sure many of you have had the same.
Heres the specs you need for cover photo
2000 x 300 pixels (w x h) resolution 72 or your preferred preference
to add text and logos use https://befunky.com
Then you are going to need photo url to upload it and this is where many people get frustrated
Most websites auto adjust or change size of image when uploading so it is important to use a site that does not change the size of the image you want to use.

Never had an issue using them and would recommend them highly.
How to do profile picture?
Find the image and image url you want and use https://imgsafe.org
Click on the image and the url will be below to copy and paste into steem
