Steemit growth experiment 3 - The first hardfork: No more resteeming required!

in #steem7 years ago

Yes, I am a real user, and yes I am listening to the community!

I've been reading your comments and I have thought a lot about them, and taken your suggestions to heart Steemians, I hear you. Resteeming my post every day for a chance to get up voted is a bit much, you are right (you always are ;) I have realized that it is unreasonable to ask that people's feed reflect my posts resteemed every second or third post, and what is more I don't think that this would be good (or good looking) for the community anyhow.

As of this post, the resteeming requirement is officially dropped! However, I would like to try a new direction, and put a different requirement in it's place.

Here's what I'm thinking peeps

What would you fine folks who have been following and supporting my experiment say to the requirement of a comment on the post to receive an upvote? At this moment I think it is a reasonable ask, for a few reasons, let me detail them to ya.

It will greatly help me sort out those who would like an upvote, and those who merely want to support the project

By leaving a comment, Steemians are in effect letting me know they are here and interested in receiving an upvote, and it also gives them a chance to link to the post they would like me to vote on as well. If you don't leave a comment, it can be understood that you are ok simply upvoting the post in support of the experiment.

It increases post engagement, which (I think?) helps the post show up higher on "hot" and "trending" pages.

By having more interaction on the post, the hope is that it not only helps the post show up higher, but also encourages others to interact and participate in the experiment also.

Commenting gets the community involved

This experiment is meant to help all Steemians grow, and one of the best ways I can think of to do that is to get the community involved.

So that is the plan folks, let me know what you think! Is a simple comment an acceptable replacement for the re steem requirement?

Looking forward to your feedback!

Clearly I have no problem with the commenting, but I wanted stated that personally, I didn't have an issue with resteeming. Maybe because I'm new and don't know how everything works, but I personally like sharing the posts so my followers can see them and have the option to join in on the experiment. Just my two cents. Here's my link for today! As always, keep up the great work. ❤️

Continue with your good work

I will comment on the posts. Keep at this idea!

You've been UpVoted via the UpVote Experiment 002 Bot. Depending on my VP & the price of STEEM you should get a $.01-$.03 for your trouble.
Read more about this experiment here.

Thank You - @blueorgy

you've been upvoted and thanks for taking the resteem off...i like your experiment and im with you that we can grow all together...
cheers

Nice to see that you changed the rules and leaving a comment, shouldn't be a problem for anybody. But I think more comments have nothing to do with hot or trending page, but maybe somebody else knows more details about this.

This time my entry is a Painting from a person I want to support

Very good change. And yes, comments will help improve community involvement, especially if people are writing more than just 'commenting because i have to'

I also was ok with re-steeming your posts, because I felt that it was helping more people understand what you are trying to do...but when preforming an experiment it is important to celebrate both success and failure! I think that the positive in the situation is that you continue to move foreward! :D

What is the meaning of the dropdown button that exists under the "promote" button: Because it currently says -Sort Order: trending-

Also what does the "promote" button do?
